Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a transformation method for producing a stramenopile organism having an improved unsaturated fatty acid production capability by disrupting a gene of the stramenopile organism or inhibiting the expression of the gene in a genetically engineering manner. [Solution] A method for transforming a stramenopile organism, which comprises disrupting a gene of the stramenopile organism or inhibiting the expression of the gene in a genetically engineering manner, and which is characterized in that the stramenopile organism is selected from Thraustochytrium aureum, Parietichytrium sarkarianum, Thraustochytrium roseum and Parietichytrium sp. and the gene to be disrupted or of which the expression is to be inhibited is a gene associated with the biosynthesis of a fatty acid.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide an operation device which has a pushbutton function and a touch switch function, and which offers excellent ease of operation. A hole is provided in a transparent substrate (12) of a touch screen provided on a rear surface of an image capturing device, and a pushbutton (16) serving as a shutter release button is provided. Transparent electrodes (14) are formed around the pushbutton (16) to form a touch switch, and an electrode (20) is formed below the pushbutton (16) to form a pushbutton switch. Metering is performed when the touch switch is turned ON in response to a touch operation of the pushbutton (16), and an image is captured when the pushbutton switch is turned ON in response to a push-down operation of the pushbutton (16).
Abstract:
A vehicle seat is taught that preferably include a seat cushion (10), a seat back (20) rotatably connected to the seat cushion via a reclining mechanism (30), front (40) and rear (46) legs removably connecting the seat cushion to a vehicle floor (66), a retracting link (50), an operating member capable of removing the front and rear legs from the floor, and a coupling link (54). The seat back can be rotated forwardly by unlocking the reclining mechanism, so as to be superimposed on the seat cushion. When the front and rear legs are removed from the floor, the seat can be moved from a use condition to a retracted condition depending on the motion of the retracting link. When the seat is moved from the use condition to the retracted condition, the coupling link rotates the front leg based on a displacement of the retracting link, thereby unlocking the reclining mechanism
Abstract:
A process for specifically preparing sphingolipids or sphingolipid derivatives wherein the long-chain fatty acid moiety bonded to a sphingoid is modified or substituted; and sphingolipids or sphingolipid derivatives prepared by the process. The process is characterized by enzymatically reacting a sphingolipid with an aliphatic carboxylic acid or the like in the presence of an enzyme specifically hydrolyzing the acid-amide linkage between the sphingoid and the fatty acid component constituting the sphingolipid to give another sphingolipid or sphingolipid derivative different from the original one in the aliphatic acid chain.
Abstract:
A seat includes a seat main body (12); first and second adjustable portions (14, 16, 18), each of which is provided on the seat main body and is placed in an adjustable state by operating force; an operating member (40) which is displaced in a predetermined range; a first operating force transmitting portion (66A) for transmitting the operating force of the operating member to the first adjustable portion (14) when the operating member is displaced in a first range; a second operating force transmitting portion (68) for transmitting the operating force of the operating member to the second adjustable portion (16, 18) when the operating member is displaced in a second range; and an operation reaction force avoiding portion for keeping the first adjustable portion in the state that it is in when the operating member is displaced in the first range, when the operating member is displaced in the second range, by the input operating force.
Abstract:
A vehicular seat device assumes, as seat arrangements, a seating state and in which an occupant can sit, an entry/exit state in which the seat cushion (12) is in a standing state, and a retracted state in which a seatback (14) is superimposed on an upper side of the seat cushion (12). The vehicular seat device has a first linking member (21), a second linking member (22) and a drive mechanism (16) that are capable of changing the posture of the seat cushion (12) synchronously with the tilting of the seatback (14). Since the seat arrangement is changed synchronously with the tilting of the seatback (14), it is possible to reduce the burden of operation on an occupant in changing the seat arrangement, while allowing various seat arrangements.

Abstract:
The apparatus and method are provided for crystal pulling, wherein contamination of crystal is prevented and single-crystal material having an excellent pressure resistance of the oxide film is obtained without spoiling the precise controllability on the oxygen concentration in the crystal. In this apparatus, a heat-resisting and heat-insulating cylindrical member (7) surrounding the crystal-pulling zone is supported from the ceiling or upper part of the side wall of a metallic chamber (6) with a space (h1) between the metallic chamber (6) and the ceiling (6a) thereby to separate the inert gas (30) being supplied from the above into branches of inert gas (33 and 32) flowing inside and outside this member. Further, this method is characterized in that the two flows of inert gas (33 and 32) passing inside and outside the member (7) are joined again.
