Abstract: A rail and carrier system for first and second removable seats of a motor vehicle is described. The rail and carrier system includes two lower rails fixedly attached to and positioned laterally along a floor of the motor vehicle. Two upper rails are nested with and laterally slidable within each of the lower rails. The rail and carrier system further includes four cross brackets laterally spaced apart and arranged perpendicular to the upper rails, two connecting the left upper rails, and two connecting the right upper rails. Covers are connected to and extend between the cross brackets.

Abstract: An emergency response type vehicle is provided. The vehicle comprises an operator compartment, a body supported rearward of the operator compartment and having at least one side wall, a guide structure supported at the side wall and extending substantially parallel with the side wall, and a seat assembly movably coupled to the guide structure. The seat assembly has a backrest that is substantially parallel with the side wall. Abstract: A seat assembly for supporting an occupant above a floor of an automotive vehicle including a cushion and a riser coupled between the floor of the vehicle and the seat cushion for allowing manual lateral displacement of the seat cushion within the vehicle between a plurality of lateral positions. The seat cushion is pivotally coupled to front legs for movement between a seating position and a forwardly dumped position. The front legs are interconnected to a foot bracket. The foot bracket includes a hook portion slidably engaged with a rod fixedly secured to the floor of the vehicle for manual movement of the seat cushion between the plurality of lateral positions. A cinching hook is pivotally coupled to the foot bracket for movement between locked and unlocked positions. In the locked position, the cinching hook clamps the rod between the hook portion and the cinching hook for resisting lateral displacement of the seat cushion along the rod. In the unlocked position, the cinching hook is substantially disengaged from the rod to allow lateral displacement of the seat cushion along the rod. A link extends between the seat cushion and the cinching hook for moving the cinching hook between the locked and unlocked positions in response to movement of the seat cushion between the locked and the unlocked positions.

Abstract: A conventional vehicular rotary seat for use by an aged or disabled person involve a handling problem due to the need of the operation of sliding a seat body forward and the operation of turning the seat body toward a door opening , and the problem of sacrificing a space at an occupant's feet when the seat is positioned towards the front in order to enable turning the seat without sliding.
