The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for transceiving media content through the Internet. A media transmitting method according to one embodiment of the present invention transmits media content through the Internet, and comprises the steps of: configuring the media content with a plurality of representations; dividing each of the plurality of representations into a plurality of segments; dividing each of the plurality of segments into a plurality of sub-segments; generating a plurality of time reference values corresponding to each of the plurality of sub-segments; and transmitting any one of the representations, wherein the representation being transmitted comprises the plurality of time reference values. According to the one embodiment of the present invention, media content can be seamlessly played back due to switching a bit stream when the state of a network changes.

The present invention relates to a control device and a control target device, and particularly, to a method for transmitting a content list of a control target device and a control device. A method for allowing a control point device to receive a content list from a control target device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: transmitting a content list request message to the control target device; receiving a response message which includes a fragment of the content list; and displaying the content list based on the fragment, wherein the fragment includes a plurality of content objects corresponding to the number of content objects for one content list fragment.

According to the present invention, a method for receiving a broadcast service comprises the steps of: selecting a non-real time service object; receiving service signaling data corresponding to the selected non-real time service object; determining a consumption model of the non-real time service object on the basis of the service signaling data; acquiring, if the consumption model is a predetermined consumption model, first content item reception information contained in the non-real time service object from the service signaling data; receiving a first content item on the basis of the first content item reception information; and executing the first content item in response to a request for execution from the selected non-real time service object.

The invention relates to a video display device comprising a display unit. The video display device acquires uncompressed audiovisual content which is obtained by excluding service information from a broadcast signal, and reproduces the uncompressed audiovisual content through the display unit. The video display device acquires content information of the uncompressed audiovisual content based on a portion of the uncompressed audiovisual content, acquires an additional service based on the content information, and reproduces the additional service through the display unit.

A video display device includes a display unit. The video display device obtains non-compressed audiovisual content, and plays the non-compressed audiovisual content by means of the display unit. The video display device obtains content information of the non-compressed audiovisual content based on one content section from the non-compressed audiovisual content, and obtains information on content change time and information on enhanced service based on the content information. The video display device decides delay time for obtaining the next content information based on the information on content change time.

The present invention relates to a method for setting up a network for an application executed on an IPTV receiver, and the IPTV receiver using same. The method comprises: downloading an application that is executed in a declarative application environment (DAE); initiating the downloaded application; acquiring the address of a gateway connected to the IPTV receiver; requesting the connected gateway for port mapping for communication between the application and an external network; and operating the application by using the port that has been mapped pursuant to the request.

The present invention relates to a method for transmitting/receiving contents through a network such as the Internet, and to a transmitter/receiver using same, the transmission method comprising: converting content stored in a file format into a delivery format; and transmitting the content converted into the delivery format using an IP packet, wherein the delivery format includes indicator information for expressing whether a program clock reference (PCR) has been transmitted to the IP packet.
