    Abstract: An oxide superconducting wire producing method comprising a step of producing a wire having a form in which the material powder of an oxide superconductor is covered with a metal (S1, S2) and a step of heat-treating the wire in a pressurized atmosphere (S4, S6), wherein the total pressure of the pressurized atmosphere lies in the range from 1 to 50 MPa. In such a way, voids among the oxide superconducting crystals and bulging of the oxide superconducting wire are prevented, and the partial pressure of oxygen during the heat treatment can be easily controlled, thereby improving the critical current density.
