Abstract:
The present invention relates to a human resistin receptor. More specifically, provided are a method for searching for a receptor for a human resistin protein, a method for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases and atherosclerosis using a regulator which regulates the expression or activity of a human resistin receptor, and a pharmaceutical composition containing a regulator which regulates the expression or activity of a human resistin receptor. It is possible to separate a receptor which directly binds to resistin from human monocytes using the method for searching for a receptor for a human resistin protein of the present invention, and the discovery of the signal delivery system of a resistin receptor is expected to contribute to the regulation of inflammatory effects of a monocyte, the diagnosis of the molecular cause of blood vessel inflammation and atherosclerosis, and the development of an agent for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases and atherosclerosis.

The present invention relates to a technique of using monocytic blood cells to effectively culture and proliferate blood adult stem cells and progenitor cells that only exist in small quantities to effectively obtain large quantities of stem cells. According to the present invention, the limitation of being able to derive only small quantities of stem cells from blood can be overcome, and the pluripotency of stem cells can easily be obtained.

For example, such an electronic device 10 may include an LCD 18 with two liquid crystal alignment layers 76, 82 not symmetric to one another and upper and lower polarizing layers 66, 68 respectively above and below the alignment layers 76, 82. Light transmittance through the plurality of pixels 42 may increase monotonically with gray scale voltage. The display 18 may operate using a gray scale level 0 voltage higher than a minimum gray scale level 0 voltage capability of the display. Additionally or alternatively, liquid crystal molecular alignment axes 110 of the two alignment layers 76, 82 may be offset from one another by an angle other than a multiple of 180 degrees. Additionally or alternatively, a first polarizing axis of the upper polarizing layer 66 or a second polarizing axis of the lower polarizing layer 68, or both, may be neither parallel nor perpendicular to one of the liquid crystal molecular alignment axes 110.

The present invention relates to a washing machine in which the quality of a signal sound containing information on the washing machine is improved, wherein said signal sound is outputted by a signal sound output unit. More particularly, the present invention relates to a washing machine, comprising: the signal sound output unit which outputs, in a signal sound, information on the washing machine; and a signal sound guide unit which is arranged along the periphery of the signal sound output unit to form a sound path between the signal sound output unit and the signal sound guide unit, wherein one end of the signal sound guide unit is for reflecting the signal sound outputted by the signal sound output unit, and the other end thereof is open so as to output the signal sound transmitted through the sound path.

Provided are a clamp for joint surface replacement using a robot and operating equipment using the same. The clamp includes a grip part for gripping a predetermined region of a bone, and a body connected to the grip part and having at least three measurement points at one surface thereof. Artificial joint surface replacement is not complicated, bone can be processed with high precision, and operation time can be reduced.

An intermediate substrate includes a handle substrate bonded to a thin layer suitable for epitaxial growth of a compound semiconductor layer, such as a Ill-nitride semiconductor layer. The handle substrate may be a metal or metal alloy substrate, such as a molybdenum or molybdenum alloy substrate, while the thin layer may be a sapphire layer. A method of making the intermediate substrate includes forming a weak interface in the source substrate, bonding the source substrate to the handle substrate, and exfoliating the thin layer from the source substrate such that the thin layer remains bonded to the handle substrate.

An electronic device may have a display such as a liquid crystal display. The display may have multiple layers of material such as a color filter layer and a thin-film transistor layer. An opaque masking layer may be formed on a display layer such as the color filter layer. In an inactive portion of the display, the opaque masking layer may form a rectangular ring that serves as a border region surrounding a rectangular active portion of the display. In the active portion of the display, the opaque masking layer may be patterned to from an opaque matrix that separates color filter elements in an array of color filter elements. The opaque masking layer and color filter elements may be formed from polymers such as photoresist. The opaque masking layer may include a black pigment such as carbon black. Color filter elements and opaque masking material may include multiple sublayers.

Disclosed embodiments relate to a thin-film transistor (TFT) for use in a display device. The display device may include a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel having multiple pixels arranged in rows and column, with each row corresponding to a gate line and each column corresponding to a source line. Each of the pixels includes a pixel electrode and a TFT. The TFT may include a metal oxide semiconductor channel between a source and drain. For each TFT, holes may be formed in the gate line in a region beneath the source and/or the drain. The holes may be formed such that the source and drain only partially overlap the holes. The presence of the holes reduces the area of the gate line, which may reduce parasitic capacitance and improve loading. This may provide improved panel performance, which may reduce the appearance of certain visual artifacts.

In a second embodiment, a method comprises : forming a weak interface in a source substrate; bonding the source substrate to the handle substrate; exfoliating a thin layer from the source substrate such that the thin layer remains bonded to the handle substrate; capping the thin layer bonded to the handle substrate; and after capping the thin layer, annealing the thin layer.

The child birth assisting apparatus which presses the abdomen of a mother to assist the delivery comprises a seating means which comprises a seating pad having a seating surface to be stably seated on the back of the mother, and a pair of first connection members which is formed in opposite ends of the seating pad; and a pressure means which comprises a first belt member being adjustable in length and having a non-elastic material, a pair of second connection members mounted in opposite sides of the first belt member and detachably attached to the first connection members and at least one air bag formed in an internal surface of the first belt member and expanding by air supplied from an external air supply device to press the abdomen of the mother.
