Abstract:
A method for making a thin wall component comprise: locating a film (40) in a mold cavity of a mold, wherein the mold cavity has an initial mold thickness, wherein the film comprises a base layer (41) and a pattern layer (42); injecting a molding material (60) into the mold cavity such that the molding material contacts the pattern layer, wherein the molding material comprises a polymeric material and a filler; compressing the mold to a final mold thickness that is less than the initial mold thickness, to form a molded product, wherein the pattern layer forms a surface of the molded product; and removing the molded product from the mold. A molded product formed by the method. The method produce a thin walled component without warpage, inner stresses, poor surface quality, or washout defects.
Abstract:
Blends of polycarbonate (PC) with an impact modifier, such as a butadiene-styrene based polymer like acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) polymers or methacrylate- butadiene-styrene (MBS) polymers, having improved flame retardance are disclosed. From about 0.5% to about 3% by weight of a filler selected from the group consisting of a clay, talc, and aluminum oxide particles are added to the blend. The resulting flame retardant polymer composition has improved flame retardance with acceptable maintenance of mechanical and/or processing properties.
Abstract:
A process includes sintering TiH 2 and/or Ti metal in a controlled atmosphere, and at elevated temperature, to form a sintered titanium material; cooling the sintered titanium material; and heating the sintered titanium material under vacuum to form titanium metal, or a titanium metal alloy with fine or ultrafine grain sizes; where the controlled atmosphere includes a mixture of hydrogen and an inert gas.
Abstract:
A wire guide apparatus for a powered staple gun (10) is adapted to be housed in a low-profile housing (18) at the front end of the staple gun, forward of the safety (22) and staple driver.
Abstract:
A thermoplastic composition comprises a polycarbonate having repeating structural carbonate units of the formula (1): wherein at least 60 percent of the total number of R 1 groups contain aromatic organic groups and the balance thereof are aliphatic, alicyclic, or aromatic groups; and wherein the polycarbonate comprises terminal groups derived from reaction with a cyanophenol of the formula wherein Y is a halogen, C 1-3 alkyl group, C 1-3 alkoxy group, C 7-12 arylalkyl, C 7-12 alkylaryl, or nitro group, y is 0 to 4, and c is 1 to 5, provided that y+c is 1 to 5; optionally a branching agent; an impact modifier; and a flame retardant. The compositions are useful in the manufacture of a wide variety of parts, particularly those having a thin wall.
Abstract:
An interactive method, a user terminal and a communication system am provided for multimedia message services. The method comprises the steps of receiving a multimedia message from a server; generating a page displaying or playing the multimedia message at a user terminal, wherein one or more controllers are embedded into the displayed or played multimedia message and associations between said controllers are defined; and triggering at least one action event and performing a corresponding action in response to the operations of one or more controllers. A response message fed back to the server is automatically generated at the user terminal, and an optimized multimedia message interface is provided for the user, a local interaction and a interaction between the terminal and the back end service can be flexibly realized.
Abstract:
A flame retardant thermoplastic composition comprising in combination a polycarbonate component; an impact modifier composition, the components of the impact modifier composition comprising a) a bulk polymerized ABS, and b) an impact modifier different from the ABS; and a flame retardant. The compositions have an improved balance of physical properties such as impact strength and flow, while at the same time maintaining their good flame performance.
Abstract:
Provided is a hyperbranched polymer obtained by copolymerization of (a) 90 to 99.5 mole % of at least one alkyl (meth) acrylate; and (b) 0.5 to 10 mole % of at least one trithiocarbonate, wherein the trithiocarbonate includes at least one unsaturated functionality, and wherein the total mole % of the alkyl (meth) acrylate and the trithiocarbonate is 100 mole %. Provided are further directed to an additive composition and a lubricating oil composition.
Abstract:
A module 7 for an internal combustion engine is provided. The module 7 includes a housing 10 for connection to an internal combustion engine 16, the housing 10 has a coolant inlet 40 and outlet 52 and a lubrication inlet 26 and outlet 38. The housing 10 has a lubricant heat exchanging chamber 36. A coolant pump 42 is mounted with the housing 10. A lubricant pump 30 is within the housing. A heat exchanging boundary 68 separates the lubricant heat exchanging chamber 36 into lubricant and coolant portions 64, 66.
