This invention provides an apparatus and a method for making package which has less rejection rate during manufacturing. The method in the present invention also produces packages with good dimensional accuracy. The apparatus in the present invention is provided for making three side gusset package with improved method of feeding side gusset tube and feeding bottom gusset along with web registration of bottom and side gusset to have printing perfectly.located and aligned on package surfaces such that the images or graphics can be printed partially on front side & back side, continuing over side and bottom gusset surfaces.

A co-extruded multi-layered tape (100) for woven substrates (200a, 200b, 200c) and woven bags (400) is provided. The multi-layered tape (100) includes a middle polymeric layer (102) coextruded with at least one external layer (104a, 104b) configured on each side of the middle polymeric layer (102). The external layers (104a, 104b) are coextruded with a low temperature sealable material, such that the external layers (104a, 104b) on each side of the middle polymeric layer (102) have same sealing properties.

A method (100) of making an integrated handle (304) on at least one side gusset (308) of a flexible package (300) is provided. The method (100) includes steps of sealing a handle patch (222) on at least one half width of the side gusset laminate (218). Further, the method (100) provides parallel openings on the handle patch (222) such that a centre line of the two parallel openings coincides with centre lines of each half of the side gusset laminate (218). A cover patch (226) is sealed over the handle patch (222) overlapping the edges of the handle patch (222) and simultaneously with the side gusset laminate (218) ail around, such that a predefined area is left unsealed between the two parallel openings. The longitudinal edges of the side gusset laminate (218) are folded such that the handle patch (222) comes on the outer surface of the continuous open tube (242) being formed. The continuous open tube (242) is thereby used for manufacturing the flexible package (300).

A flexible laminate tube includes a laminate and a sealing strip. The laminate includes at least two layers, an outer layer and an inner layer. The outer layer and the inner layer are non- sealable to each other and sealable to itself. The laminate is folded to overlap two longitudinally extending opposite edges thereof to configure a hollow body member. The sealing strip includes at least two layers, a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is sealable to the inner layer of the laminate, and the second layer is sealable to the outer layer of the laminate. The sealing strip is configured in-between two longitudinally extending opposite overlapped edges of the laminate such that the first layer faces the inner layer, and the second layer faces the outer layer to seal the two longitudinally extending opposite edges for configuring the hollow body member for making tube.

The present invention relates to auto venting packages with controlled venting through an unsealed passage (C1,C2,C3) generated within the sealed band(s) on the package. Such packages providing auto venting are well suited and safe for efficient microwave cooking or reheating. They offer fast microwave cooking compared to open cooking & have advantages of additional effect of steam cooking which also keeps the food well hydrated with minimal loss of nutrients. There is no need to add water also. Besides this, the packages with venting can also be used for packing & storing items like pet foods etc. which need venting to remove gases generated & to avoid ballooning when taken in low pressure areas like high altitudes.

A fibrous or fabric substrate having Fresnel lenses obtained from a process comprising coating the substrate with a radiation curable coating; embossing the curable coating with a Fresnel lens master; and curing the curable coating using UV or E-beam radiation followed by metallization. The invention also provides a process for providing at least one metalized Fresnel lens on a fibrous or fabric substrate by hot or cold foil stamping.

The present invention provides processes (100, 200, 300, 400) for making a flexible packaging substrate having one or more Fresnel lenses (410, 602) and a product made therefrom. The said process comprises providing one or more Fresnel lenses (410, 602) on a first surface (408a, 610a) of a substrate / film (408, 610); and overlapping a predetermined portion (411, 603) of the Fresnel lenses (410, 602) on the substrate / film (408, 610) by printing or foil stamping. The flexible packaging substrate having one or more Fresnel lenses comprises a substrate (408) having the Fresnel lens or the pattern of Fresnel lenses (410) on the first surface (408a) thereof, wherein a predetermined portion (411) of the Fresnel lenses (410) is covered to hide irregular / uneven / torn edges.

The present invention provides a method of making re-closable package (10) and a product made therefrom. The said method comprises providing a first web (46) and a second web (50), folding a predetermined portion (P) of the first web (46) into a V-shape (58) thereby forming an extended portion and cutting the V-shape (58) of the first web (46) to form a pair of extended panels (62). A re-closable zipper (42) sealed with the extended panels (62). The first web (46) sealed with the second web (50) at a first sealing zone (SZ1) and second sealing zone (SZ2). Subsequently, cut the first web (46) and the second web (50) at the first sealing zone (SZ1) thereby obtaining a re-closable package (10). The said re-closable package (10) comprising a first panel (14), a second panel (18) and optionally side gussets (22, 26) and a bottom gusset (30).
