Provided herein is technology relating to genotyping and particularly, but not exclusively, to methods for genotyping one or more organisms by genome sequencing. In some embodiments of the technology, two restriction enzymes are used to generate two sites with different overhangs at each end of the digested fragments. One site is ligated with the barcode oligonucleotide to permit multiplexing of samples during analysis, e.g., sequencing. The other site is ligated with an oligonucleotide without the barcode. The number of sites targeted for analysis is further reduced by the design and selection of amplification primers complementary to the non-barcode site.

Systems and methods for upgrading the firmware of a wireless communication device (202). A wireless communication device (202) may comprise a first processor (204) and a first memory (206) configured to receive monitored data from one or more sensors (210), and wirelessly communicate the received monitored data. The device may comprise a modem (220) comprising a second processor (224) and a second memory (226) configured to wirelessly send an identifier for the current firmware stored in the second memory (226); when a firmware upgrade is available, receive an upgrade for the firmware stored in the second memory (226); upgrade the firmware stored in the second memory (226), wherein upgrading the firmware comprises temporarily interrupting wireless communication to and from the wireless communication device (202); reestablish wireless communication to and from the wireless communication device (202); and forward any monitored data received by the first processor (204) and the first memory (206) during the temporary interruption.
Abstract:
The present invention is a high efficiency permanent magnet machine capable of maintaining high power density. The machine is operable over a wide range of power output. The improved efficiency is due in part to copper wires with a current density lower than traditional designs and larger permanent magnets coupled with a large air gap. In a certain embodiment wide stator teeth are used to provide additional improved efficiency through significantly reducing magnetic saturation resulting in lower current. The machine also has a much smaller torque angle than that in traditional design at rated load and thus has a higher overload handling capability and improved efficiency. In addition, when the machine is used as a motor, an adaptive phase lag compensation scheme helps the sensorless field oriented control (FOC) scheme to perform more accurately.

Various embodiments of systems and methods for configuring a master data based upon a scenario are described herein. A method includes rendering a list of predefined master data, receiving a user's selection of a master data from the list of predefined master data, displaying a list of scenarios defined for the selected master data, receiving a user's selection of a scenario from the list of scenarios, and configuring the master data based upon the user selected scenario. The configuration of master data based upon the scenario, selected or defined by the user, makes the system very flexible, efficient, and user friendly. Further, the modification/configuration of the master data as per the requirement of the application (scenario) saves time and energy of the user (developer) in developing the application.

A catalyst support material and a catalyst system incorporating said support material along with a method of making the same is provided for use in applications in which the support material is exposed to sulfur-containing impurities. The catalyst support material generally comprises an inorganic oxide base material having a surface and pores of predetermined size; and a zirconium layer adapted to interact with the surface and sized to be received by the pores of the base material. The catalyst support material being prepared by applying a layer of a zirconium compound to the surface and pores of an inorganic oxide base material followed by calcination in order to convert the zirconium compound to a metal, a metal oxide, or a mixture thereof.

Method and apparatus for communication in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network are provided. The method comprises a first peer in the P2P network selecting a primary Internet Protocol (IP) address from a plurality of IP addresses associated with the first peer. The method further comprises the first peer providing the primary IP address to a second peer as an address the second peer is to use in initiating communication with the first peer. The apparatus comprises a user equipment (UE) that includes a processor configured such that the UE selects a primary IP address from plurality of IP addresses associated with the UE and registers the primary IP address in the P2P network.

A method of client routing in a peer-to-peer ("P2P") overlay network is provided. The method of client routing in a P2P overlay network comprises requesting communication with a client by a first peer using the P2P overlay network, wherein the first peer is directed to a second peer to which the client is registered in the P2P overlay network; determining that it is not attached to the second peer and the client has access to another network; providing the second peer with the client's location using the other network, where the client's location is associated with an attached third peer, but not registered in the P2P overlay network; forwarding the client's location from the second peer to the first peer using the P2P overlay network, and using the client's location to communicate with the client by the first peer using the P2P overlay network.
