Abstract:
The present invention relates to a winter tyre for vehicles comprising a tread band obtained by vulcanisation of a new elastomeric composition. Said elastomeric composition comprises among the others a plasticising mixture of liquid polymer (A), resin (B) and possibly plasticising oil (C). Said winter tyre, in addition to excellent driving and braking on snow and at low temperatures, surprisingly exhibits an optimal balance of notoriously conflicting properties, such as the behaviour on wet and dry.

Process for producing tyres (3) comprising building a green tyre comprising two bead structures (6), each comprising a bead filler (7a), wherein the bead filler or another rigid component of the green tyre comprises a final elastomeric compound produced by feeding elastomeric polymer (102) and reinforcement filler (103) to a first batch mixing device (101); mixing and dispersing the reinforcement filler in the elastomeric polymer and unloading the obtained elastomeric compound; feeding the obtained elastomeric compound (104), along with at least 5 phr of reinforcement resin (111), to a continuous mixing device (106) of intermeshing and co-rotating twin-screw or multi-screw type or of planetary type; and mixing the reinforcement resin in the elastomeric compound and unloading the obtained elastomeric compound; feeding the obtained elastomeric compound (108) along with the components capable of facilitating the cross-linking (113) to a second batch mixing device (501) and mixing in a manner so as to obtain the final elastomeric compound (112), wherein the first and second batch mixing device have two counterrotating rotors.

The present invention relates to a tyre for vehicles for winter or for all seasons, comprising a component, preferably a tread band, obtained by vulcanisation of a new elastomeric composition. Said elastomeric composition comprises inter alia a plasticising mixture of liquid polymer (A), resin (B) and optionally plasticising oil (C) that is incorporated in the composition with a process P comprising a mixing and dispersion step (P1) followed by a continuous processing step (P2), preferably under high vacuum. Said tyre surprisingly exhibits an optimal balance of notoriously conflicting properties, such as the behaviour on wet and dry, driving and braking at low temperatures on snow.

An apparatus (100), and relative method, for producing a semi-finished product (50) comprising a strip of sealing compound (51) for building tyres (1), comprising at least one unsaturated styrene thermoplastic elastomer, one bonding resin and one cross-linking agent; wherein the apparatus comprises a continuous mixer (101 ) comprising an inner chamber (103) for receiving the components of the sealing compound and to continuously mix them until the sealing compound is obtained; a buffer device (110) having a respective inner chamber (111) and coupled in series with structural continuity to the continuous mixer, downstream of the latter; a gear pump (120) having a respective inner chamber (121) and a gear system (122) housed in the respective inner chamber, and coupled with structural continuity to the buffer device downstream of the latter, an extrusion head (130) coupled directly and with structural continuity to the gear pump, downstream of the latter, in a manner such to receive in input the sealing compound from the gear pump and deliver in output the sealing compound in the form of a strip having predetermined transverse size, wherein the buffer device (110) receives the sealing compound from the continuous mixer (101) and feeds the gear pump.
