Abstract:
The present invention relates to an assembly of a mould (14) and of a cross member (12) of a motor vehicle, the cross member comprising a part (20) that is to be overmoulded which is intended to be placed in the mould, a part intended to be situated on the outside of the mould, and at least one region (22, 24) for housing a mould wall portion (26, 28) interposed between these two parts. The mould wall portion and the region for accommodating it are of essentially complementing shapes and the cross member has, in the accommodating region, at least one change in level (34, 36) by comparison with a reference surface that follows the overall outline of the cross member. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle technical front end forming an overmoulded component produced using the above-defined assembly.
Abstract:
The hybrid part of the invention includes a metal body (14A, 14B) and a body of a plastic material (16) partially covering the metal body (14A, 14B). The metal body (14A, 14B) includes first and second opposite surfaces (18A1, 18A2, 18B1, 18B2). The first and second opposite surfaces (18A1, 18A2, 18B1, 18B2) respectively include first and second areas (22A1, 22A2, 22B1, 22B2) free from the plastic material and including at least one punched area (26A, 26B). During the part manufacturing method, the areas (22A1, 22A2, 22B1, 22B2) of the metal body (4A, 14B) to be free from the plastic material are clamped between first and second clamping surfaces (32A1, 32A2, 32B1, 32B2), and the areas (22A1, 22A2, 22B1, 22B2) clamped between the clamping surfaces (32A1, 32A2, 32B1, 32B2) of the mould (10) are punched during the closing of the mould (10).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for making an over-moulded part (10) that defines a structural part for an automobile, comprising: a moulding step during which at least one member (12) of the part (10) is moulded from a first material containing a heat-curable material, using a mould (24) shaped so that at least a portion of the member forms a material web (30); an over-moulding step during which a second material containing a heat-curable material is over-moulded on at least one of the material webs (34) of the member (12) so that the material web (34) is torn under the pressure (42) of the second material, a passage (35) for the second material being then formed through the member. The invention also relates to a structural part for an automobile.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an assembly including a rear shock beam (18) and a shock absorber (20). The beam and the absorber each include securing means (24, 25) to a blank frame (12) of the automobile. The absorber is adapted to absorb a corner shock and to be mounted in the vicinity of a rear corner (14) of the blank frame (12) as an extension of the beam (18) in the longitudinal direction thereof so as to provide a clearance (27) between a proximal end (28) of the beam (18) and the absorber (20).
