The mass transit vehicle component of the invention is prepared from i) pellets of a flame retardant glass fibre reinforced polypropylene composition; ii) a composition comprising: a) pellets of a fibre reinforced polypropylene composition; and b) a flame retardant polypropylene dilution composition; or iii) a composition comprising: a) pellets of a flame retardant fibre reinforced polypropylene composition, and b) a flame retardant polypropylene dilution composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a photovoltaic module comprising (a) a front layer (1) arranged on the sunlight facing side of the photovoltaic module, wherein the front layer (1) comprises a first polypropylene composition, comprising a polypropylene, wherein the transmission of the front layer for light in the wavelength range of 350nm to 1200nm is on average at least 65% as compared to a situation without the front layer as determined according to ASTM D1003-13, (b) a sealing layer (2,4) which at least partly encapsulates a plurality of photovoltaic cells (3), wherein the sealing layer (2, 4) comprises a polyolefin elastomer composition comprising an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer and (c) a back layer (5), wherein the back layer (5) comprises a first reinforced polypropylene layer comprising a second polypropylene composition comprising a polypropylene and optionally a reinforcing filler, wherein the sealing layer is arranged between the front layer and the back layer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to pellets of a flame retardant long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene composition having a core containing glass fibres and a sheath of a polypropylene compound comprising a flame retardant composition and surrounding said core, wherein the flame retardant composition comprises a mixture of an organic phosphate compound, an organic phosphoric acid compound and zinc oxide. The invention further relates to flame retardant moulding compositions and articles manufactured using the pellets or the moulding compositions.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a process for the preparation of a heterophasic propylene copolymer comprising mixing 55-95 wt% of a propylene polymer and 5-45 wt% of an ethylene-propylene rubber with 0.01 -1 wt% of an organic peroxide with a decomposition half-life time of 6 minutes at a temperature between 80 and 109 °C and 0.001 -1.5 wt% of a co-agent, wherein all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the polymer composition, wherein the mixing is performed at a temperature which is below the temperature where the organic peroxide has a decomposition half-life time of 6 minutes to obtain a mixed polymer composition, and subsequently melt-mixing the mixed polymer composition. The invention also relates to A heterophasic propylene copolymer having a. Overall ethylene content between 5-20 wt% measured with FTIR b. MFI between 3 and 25 (g/10 min) measured according to ISO 1133-1:2011 at 230 °C and 2.16 kg c. 20 °C xylene soluble fraction (CXS) between 8 and 30 (wt%) d. a BTT according to the formula: BTT ≤ 65 - 10* (CXS/MFI) wherein the wt% is defined relative to the total of the composition.
