Abstract:
The present invention relates to telephony. In particular, the present invention concerns a procedure for implementing event-based billing in conjunction with services provided for consumers via a telephone connection. In the procedure, a connection is set up between a terminal device (1) and an intelligent peripheral (5), a service is selected in the peripheral by means of the terminal device, an assessment request based on the selected service is sent from the peripheral to a service control point (3) and, based on the assessment requests sent by the peripheral, an event-based bill for the customer is produced.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a method to arrange a real-time payment service in a telenetwork, in which method a chargeable service to be offered via a telenetwork is charged directly from a customer in real-time. The method has been arranged to be implemented in a telenetwork, as a part of which exists an intelligent network (9), which includes a service switching centre (10), to which the customer's call is directed and where the offered chargeable service is identified based on the service number. According to the invention, the connection of the service switching centre (10) of the intelligent network (9) is adapted to include a payment service unit (15), by means of which is identified the customer calling the service number and a price of the service is determined. The payment service centre (15) is adapted to function as a payment terminal such that account informations or the like of the customer and the service provider and price information of the service are transmitted to a payment service in a dedicated network (17) connected to the telenetwork, in which payment service the transaction is effected such that based on the price information relating to the service from the customer's account the monetary transaction is transferred directly to the account specified by the service provider when the service call is made.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a system for charging of a user of a telenetwork, especially a computer equipment offering chargeable services. In order to achieve a simple and reliable charging method: A) the identification number and the secret code of an account in a separate account register is given to the user, whereby for the charging of the user; B) the identification number and the secret code of the user is asked; C) a debiting message is sent to the account register via the telecommunication link, whereat said debiting message includes at least the sum to be charged and also the identification number and the secret code announced by the user; and D) a message is expected from the account register indicating that the account register has debited the chargeable sum from the account the user has announced, whereby it is stated that the user has paid for the chargeable service.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for transmitting video images over a data communication network, in which method the video image is encoded at the sending end, transmitted, and decoded at the receiving end. For each block, the difference between successive blocks is transmitted if the block difference exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a system for traffic measurement in an ATM network. The bandwidth of a link (15) in the network is known. The traffic, i.e. bandwidth, is measured by letting the ATM cells enter and leave an imaginary buffer in a measuring device (30). In addition to the real cells, imaginary cells corresponding to an imaginary traffic stream are also entered into the imaginary buffer. If the bandwidth of the imaginary traffic is too large the imaginary buffer becomes full, cells are lost and an imaginary cell loss ratio is obtained. A predetermined imaginary cell loss ratio corresponds to utilising the total bandwidth of the link (15). The imaginary traffic corresponds to a known bandidth and by substracting the imaginary bandwidth from the bandwidth of the link (15) the bandwidth of the actual traffic is obtained.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for charging a user of a computer system of the chargeable services used by him. So that the user could be charged for although he hasn't got a separate user identification the access to the chargeable services of the computer system (8) is offered to the user via his terminal (3) for the time period during which a connection from the user's telephone (5) to the predetermined chargeable telephone number exists, when the user is charged for the use of the chargeable services by adding the sum to be charged for the use to his telephone bill.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for classifying mobile station calls, in which method the mobile station subscriber uses predetermined selection prefixes. According to them the station calls can be separated from each other in compliance with the data of the invoicing record.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is transmission along a transmission path between a base station (1) and a receiving or transmitting mobile phone (5), when coverage area of the base station is not adequate. This is accomplished such that the radio frequency message is converted within the transmission path at one part (3b, 3a) of a repeater into a message of audio frequency type, which is converted into a message of radio frequency type at a second part (3a, 3b) of the repeater, whereby the mobile phone (5) is capable to receive the same.
Abstract:
The subject of the invention is a method where a computer program is created at a user's premises, to be transmitted encoded as a set of multifrequency tones to a computer (7) that can be used over telephone network, where the service-users can call with a telephone, such as an automatized telephone banking or information services. The mentioned computer (7) answers to the callers with speech and interprets the multifrequency tones produced by the callers via pressing the keys of the telephone or other means, as instructions that control the execution of the program. Essential to the invention is that a computer program is transmitted encoded as a set of multifrequency tones and that there can possibly be speech- and other kinds of voice-messages before, in-between and after these tones, whose meaning and location in the program to be executed is identified with another set of multifrequency tones.
