Abstract:
A non-seamed sheeting fabric, such as a bed sheet, including a cool portion and a warm portion that is integral with the cool portion. The warm portion is configured to provide greater thermal insulation than the cool portion.
Abstract:
A woven chambray fabric, including a method and system for forming same includes a plurality of warp yams, each warp yam including natural fibers. The woven fabric includes a plurality of weft yarns interwoven with the plurality of warp yams. Each weft yam defines a weft yarn assembly that has a first weft yam, a second weft yam that extends alongside the first weft yam, and a plurality of consolidation regions where the first weft yam and the second weft yarn are coupled to each other. The first weft yam is a spun staple yam that includes natural fibers and the second weft yam is a dyed continuous filament yarn. The second weft yam is dyed a color that is different from a color of the first weft yam and each warp yam so as to define the woven chambray fabric.

Abstract:
A bed monitoring device for monitoring bodily activity of a person and in particular vital signs such as respiration, cardiac activity and body's physical movement, including the presence, absence, step out or even falling out of a person using a sleeping environment such as a bed; mattress; top-mattress, bedding such as mattress covers, and pillow covers; a pad; a futon and the like. Based on the monitoring of bodily activity, it further allows determining sleep comfort and sleeping position of the user. It accordingly provides a valuable R&D tool to manufactures of sleeping articles like beds, mattresses, top-mattresses, futons and the like; but also in counselling consumers when buying sleeping articles under professional guidance. lt comprises an optical fibre fixed to or mixed into a flat body positioned within said sleeping environment for detection of bodily activity by measuring a polarization variation of light propagating through the fibre.
Abstract:
Bioburden reducing fabrics include a woven fabric having warp yarns and filling yarns woven together in a plain weave to provide a pill resistant fabric having identical surfaces on both sides thereof. A surface of the fabric, when exposed to a pathogenic environment for twenty hours, allows no more than a total average of about twenty-two CFUs of pathogens per square centimeter to be formed thereon.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the use of polyphosphonates, copoly(phosphonate ester)s, copoly(phosphonate carbonate)s, and their respective oligomers, as flame retardant additives for polyester fibers to impart fire resistance while maintaining or improving processing characteristics for melt spinning fibers.

Abstract:
A bedding system which comprises a rectangular mattress (10), a top sheet (22) and a bottom sheet (16). The top and bottom sheets are releasably connectable to the mattress via cooperating areas of hook (12, 14) and loop (18, 24) material respectively carried by the mattress and the sheets. The bottom sheet (16) connects along its sides to the mattress sides (13) and does overlay a foot end (30) of the mattress. The top and bottom surfaces of the mattress couple to a mattress pad (34) and a blanket (40) via additional hook (38) and loop (36, 41) fasteners. A dust ruffle can be connected in a similar manner to the sides and a foot end of a box spring or other mattress support.
Abstract:
A cover assembly for a mattress is provided that includes a first cover and a second cover. The first cover includes a top panel, a bottom panel, and a continuous side panel collectively defining a cavity for enclosing the mattress. The second cover includes a top surface and a bottom surface, with the second cover being positioned over and dimensionally-sized to cover at least the top panel of the first cover. A fastener then connects the second cover to the first cover along the perimeter of the second cover. Methods for marking a mattress are also provided that include the step of marking an indicia indicative of a characteristic of a mattress on the top surface of the second cover of the cover assembly.
