Abstract:
The present invention is related to a device for providing a dental material. The device comprises first and second compartments formed between sheet-like layers, and first and second dispensing outlets for the first and second compartments, respectively. For use, the device can be positioned with the compartments overlapping each other and with the dispensing outlets located side by side. The invention may provide a rather inexpensive device which may help a user in a convenient preparation of a dental material.
Abstract:
A dispensing device for a dental substance which comprises a body formed in a single piece. The body connects a first passageway and a second passageway which extend along different paths. The body further comprises a nozzle with a free dispensing end. The second passageway extends into the nozzle and tapers toward the dispensing end. The invention helps to reduce manufacturing costs, and helps facilitating handling of the device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dispensing device (1), with at least one container (2, 2a, 2b; 100) for the accommodation of components to be dispensed, with an applicator (3, 30; 108) which can be releasably fixed to and/or on the at least one container (2, 2a, 2b; 100), and with a coupling means (4, 18; 106) for releasable fixing of the applicator (3, 30; 108) to at least one container (2, 2a, 2b; 100). The coupling means (4, 18; 106) has at least one spring arm (18), which has a radially pivotable free end (19) for locking the applicator (3, 30; 108) in place on at least one container (2, 2a, 2b; 100), and comprises a moveable locking ring (4; 107).
Abstract:
A dental solution dispenser includes a body having a first end, a second end, and including a front housing at the first end, a twist back at the second end, and a grip that interposes the front housing and the twist back. An applicator tip is coupled to the body at the first end, and an ampoule assembly is positioned within the body and includes an ampoule sealed at one end with a frangible seal and defining a fluid chamber for storing a dental solution. A mandrel extends longitudinally within the body and provides a piercing member. The twist back is rotatable relative to the grip to pierce the frangible seal with the piercing member. A trigger is coupled to the body and pivotable between an engaged position, where the trigger engages the ampoule assembly, and a disengaged position, where the trigger disengages the ampoule assembly.
Abstract:
Compositions of, methods of making, and methods of using alkaline earth phosphate bone cements are disclosed. A bone cement composition includes a powder comprising a basic source of calcium, magnesium, or strontium, a setting solution comprising H3PO4 and a buffer, and a biocompatible polymer that is incorporated into the setting solution. The powder is mixed with the setting solution to form a bone cement paste that either (a) sets into a hardened mass, or (b) is irradiated with electromagnetic radiation to form dry powders, the dry powders then being mixed with a second setting solution to form a radiation-assisted bone cement paste that sets into a hardened mass.

Abstract:
A dispensing device comprises a compartment for receiving a dental material, a piston for extruding the material from the compartment and a spindle drive for moving the piston and the compartment relative to one another. The spindle drive comprises a spindle and a link which are adapted for disengageable engagement with one another, wherein the spindle and the link are operable relative to each other between an engaged position in which the link and the spindle are engaged with one another, and a disengaged position in which the spindle and the link are disengaged from one another. The device may be relatively robust and inexpensive to manufacture, and may facilitate preparation of dental materials for use.
Abstract:
A package (10) for storing and dispensing a flowable material includes a container body (11) having an inlet end (20) and an outlet end (21). The container body (11) is configured to hold a quantity of the material and has a piston (30) receivable within the intlet end (20) and movable within the container body (11, 12). At least a portion of the piston (30) is selectively permeable to a selected medium.
