摘要： Absorbent articles such as disposable diapers, incontinent briefs, diaper holders and the like, that have improved dynamic fit and containment characteristics. The elasticized waistband (35) comprises a shaping panel zone (136); a waistline panel zone (138); and a predisposed, resilient, waistband flexural hinge zone (140) joining the shaping panel zone and the waistline panel zone to provide a restoring force/moment that returns the panel zones to their preceeding in-use configuration, especially when the elasticized waistband has been pretensioned by a closure system. The closure system maintains lateral tension through the elasticized waistband thereby allowing the elasticized waistband to expand and contract with the motions of the wearer. The absorbent article additionally preferably comprises a pair of "zerostrain" elasticized side panels (30) disposed in waist region (58). The present invention also relates to an expansive "tummy" panel elasticized waistband (635). The absorbent core comprises an acquisition/distribution core (1302) of chemically stiffened fibers and a storage core (1304).

摘要： An absorbent article having improved strikethrough, rewet characteristics, and feel is disclosed. The absorbent article has a topsheet comprising a nonwoven material (24) and apertured thermoplastic film (26). The apertured thermoplastic film is treated with a surfactant preferably by incorporating the surfactant into the resin used to make the thermoplastic film. The combination of the nonwoven material and the surfactant-treated apertured thermoplastic film permit liquids to rapidly penetrate the topsheet while preventing liquid in the absorbent core of the article from flowing back through the topsheet. The nonwoven material provides the topsheet with improved, less plastic-like feel.

摘要： An absorbent article having improved softness signals is disclosed. The article may include a topsheet or a backsheet including a nonwoven web. The web may have a basis weight of 30 gsm or less, may be formed of spunlaid fibers including polyolefin and up to 5 percent by weight TiO2, and may be impressed with a pattern of bond impressions to a bond area percentage of at least 10 percent forming a pattern of bonded regions and raised regions. The web may have opacity of 42 or greater; have an average height difference between bonded regions and raised regions of at least 280 µm; be hydroengorged; and/or have a cross-direction tensile strength of 350 gf/cm. A nonwoven web manufactured to have a suitable combination of such features exhibits an enhanced appearance of softness, soft tactile feel and satisfactory mechanical attributes, while being relatively cost effective.

The articles preferably incorporate a dual fastening system and elasticized side panels. The elasticized waistband (635) comprises an expansive ''tummy'' panel that is capable of expanding well beyond the dimensions of the absorbent article set by the primary fastening system (644, 646) and the original dimensions so as to accommodate wearers, especially large infants, with large expansile waists so as to reduce the sagging/slipping of the absorbent article. The extension forces of the elasticized waistband are lower than the extension forces of the elasticized side panels (30) so as to accommodate such expansion. In preferred embodiments of the elastic waist feature, the elasticized waistband is formed from a stretch laminate.

摘要： A thin nanocomposite film for use in an absorbent article is provided. The film contains an ethylene polymer, a nanoclay having an organic surface treatment, and a compatibilizer that includes an olefin polymer containing an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer. The present inventors have discovered that through selective control over the particular type and concentration of the components used to form the film, as well as the manner in which it is formed, the modulus and tensile strength of the film can be significantly improved without having an adverse impact on its ductility.

The layer of the component (A) may be constituted of a hydrophilic material, while the layer of the component (B) a hydrophobic one. Further, both of the layers may contain a common component made of an easily heat-meltable material. This sheet advantageously exhibits suitable permeability to air or moisture and excellent drape characteristics, and therefore is suitable for the raw material of sanitary or medical supplies.
