Abstract:
An apparatus has a patient care apparatus, a sensor disposed at the patient care apparatus, and an indicator device mountable to the patient care apparatus. The indicator device has an input device that inputs a patient type to the indicator device and an indicator that outputs a status to a user. The indicator outputs the status to the user based on the patient type and a configuration of the patient care apparatus sensed by the sensor. The patient care apparatus is selected from the group consisting of: a bed, a patient lift or hoist, a patient trolley and a patient standing aid.
Abstract:
The invention is related to an incubator and a method of providing oxygen to said incubator, wherein said incubator measures the oxygen the baby needs, provides the correct oxygen amount to the incubator, minimizes user support and eliminates the negativities that may arise from user mistakes.
Abstract:
A dynamic support apparatus. The dynamic support apparatus includes a cushion (14), at least one actuator (16) wherein the at least one actuator defines an interior volume and wherein the interior volume may be configured to be at least partially filled with a fluid, and a support (50) disposed in the interior volume wherein the support configured to support an occupant when the interior volume is not filled with the fluid such that the support is sufficient to support the occupant.
Abstract:
A patient transfer device is utilized to transport infant patients between locations within a hospital environment. The patient transfer device includes a center, support section and a pair of side sections that can be moved into contact with each other to surround the infant patient. The first and second side sections each include a handle that can be brought into close proximity to each other and can be grasped by a single hand of a clinician. The patient transfer device includes a heart rate sensor positioned to provide a heart rate measurement of the patient when the patient is received on the patient transfer device. The patient heart rate can be displayed on either an integrated display or wirelessly transmitted to an external display device. In this manner, the heart rate of the infant can be continuously monitored during transport.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a smart mobility aid device may have sensors to collect, monitor, analyze and represent data including but not limited to activity tracking, biometrics and safety and emergency features. The activity tracking include number of steps, miles, and activity speed, user pressure on a device, activity types and analysis. The user biometric data includes but is not limited to blood work, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, oxygen level/rate, ECG, EMG, muscle strain, humidity, UV, body temperature. Additional features include an emergency button, fall detection, warnings, and user pattern analysis changes. The mobility aid device is connected to other smart electronic devices and/or the Internet using but not limited to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and or/and SIM card. The device gives the user or/and caregiver live feedback about user health metrics and status using a data representation method.
Abstract:
An integrated and movable video and/or still camera is integrated into a warming therapy device to allow caregivers to point the camera in an area of interest in which they are interested in recording or displaying the patient located on a support surface. The system may include an audio recording device.
Abstract:
A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a support system includes a cover sheet with a number of layers. In certain embodiments, the cover sheet comprises a fluid or moisture sensor in communication with an air mover.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a support system includes a cover sheet with number of layers. In certain embodiments, a top layer and a bottom layer are bonded to middle spacer layer.
Abstract:
A patient support, such as a hospital bed, provided with a control circuit comprising a controller, memory, a communication interface, and a processor. The memory stores data related to the patient support. The controller includes a port, such as a USB port, or similar device, for providing an encryption key to the controller memory. The processor outputs data only when an encryption key is present in the memory. Before outputting in data, the processor may encrypt and/or digitally sign the data using the key. The outputting of data may be in response to an encrypted and/or digitally signed request.
