Abstract:
A chromatographic material including a substrate having a surface and having a polymeric layer covalently bound to the surface; the polymeric layer comprising polymer molecules covalently attached to the surface of the substrate, each polymer molecule being attached to the surface via multiple siloxane bonds and each polymer molecule being connected to one or more functionalizing compounds that each comprise a functional group, wherein the polymeric layer is formed by covalently attaching polymer molecules to the surface of the substrate via multiple siloxane bonds, each polymer molecule containing multiple first reactive groups, and reacting the first reactive groups of the attached polymer molecules with at least one functionalizing compound that comprises a second reactive group that is reactive with the first reactive groups and that further comprises a functional group. Preferred conditions of reacting the polymer with the substrate include elevated temperature and reduced pressure.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a new chemical process, a new cassette configuration, and new software for the automated production of multiple batches of an [ 18 F]-labelled compound on a single cassette. The invention allows one synthesizer in one hot cell to produce sequentially a plurality of batches of [ 18 F]-labelled PET tracer in the same day. In particular, the present invention provides a novel arrangement useful for purifying two consecutive batches of a reaction mixture comprising an 18 F-labelled compound.
Abstract:
Provided are two-dimensional chromatography systems and methods for separating and/or analyzing complex mixtures of organic compounds. In particular, a two-dimensional reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) - supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) system is described including a trapping column at the interface which collects the analytes eluted from the first dimension chromatograph while letting the RPLC mobile phase pass through. The peaks of interest from the RPLC dimension column are effectively focused as sharp concentration pulses on the trapping column, which is subsequently injected onto the second dimension SFC column. The system can be used for simultaneous achiral and chiral analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. The first dimension RPLC separation provides the achiral purity result, and the second dimension SFC separation provides the chiral purity result (enantiomeric excess).
Abstract:
An apparatus introduces a sample into a separation unit of a chromatography system with a mobile phase, including first and second mobile phase components. The apparatus includes first and second pump systems, and an injection unit. The first pump system provides the first mobile phase component, first and second portions of the first mobile phase component flowing through first and second branches, respectively. The second pump system provides the second mobile phase component, first and second portions of the second mobile phase component flowing through third and fourth branches, respectively. The injection unit receives a combined stream of the first portions of the first and second mobile phase components provided via the first and third branches, respectively, and to injects the sample into the combined stream to form a sample-containing stream. The sample-containing stream is subsequently combined with the second portions of the first and second mobile phase components provided via the second and fourth branches, respectively, to form a diluted sample-containing stream, which flows to the separation unit for separating sample constituents.
Abstract:
The present invention provides chromatographic means for separating from a starting lipid mixture a mixture that is enriched in docosapentaenoic acid relative to the starting lipid mixture and further provides pharmaceutical formulations and dietary supplements including this enriched lipid formulation, and methods of supplementing docosapentaenoic acid in a subject by administering to the subject the pharmaceutical formulation or the dietary supplement. In various embodiments, the formulations of the invention are of use to lower cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose levels, and inflammation in the subject to whom the formulation is administered.
