A sensor implanted in tissues and including a sensing layer is fabricated by mixing the signal transduction enzyme with non-reactive components including buffer salts and fillers, and spin coating the enzyme onto a substrate. The signal transduction enzyme is crosslinked by introducing the coated substrate in a vacuum chamber. In the chamber, a crosslinker evaporates and is deposited onto the enzyme, therefore crosslinking the enzyme.

It provides novel fusion proteins that are capable of self-crystallization and exhibit improved physical properties such as enhanced tolerance to organic solvents and increased thermostability. Polynucleotides encoding the fusion proteins as well as methods of making and using such fusion proteins are also described.

본 발명은 이종 세포들이 혼합된 샘플에서 특정 세포를 구별하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 이종 세포들이 혼합된 시료를 다공성 물질 속에서 고정을 한 다음 특정 세포만 반응하는 선택적 생리활성 자극을 부여한다. 이 후에 선택적 자극에 의해서 반응하여 분열된 특정 세포의 군집 형성을 현미경을 통해서 관찰할 수 있다. 본 발명을 통하여 혈액 내에 존재하는 순환 종양 세포의 유무를 확인할 수 있으며, 혈액 내에 존재하는 세균의 존재 뿐만 아니라 특정 유전자를 가진 세포의 존재를 편리하게 관측할 수 있다.

The present invention provides a method, wherein the method forms a biofilm, wherein the biofilm comprises a population of at least one bacterial strain attached to particles, wherein the biofilm is configured to colonize a gut of a subject in need thereof for at least five days, when ingested by the subject, the method comprising: a. obtaining a population comprising at least one strain of bacteria; b. inoculating a growth medium containing particles with the population comprising at least one strain of bacteria; c. incubating the particles with the population comprising at least one bacterial strain for a time sufficient for the population of at least one strain of bacteria to attach to the particles; and d. culturing the population comprising at least one strain of bacteria attached to the particles in a growth medium, for a time sufficient to form a biofilm.

A process for manufacturing a biodegradable bioactive film product, the process comprising: a) isolating polyhydroxyalkanoate from a bacterial culture; b) optionally bleaching the polyhydroxyalkanoate; c) dispersing the polyhydroxyalkanoate in a surfactant solution to form a dispersion; d) drying the dispersion to obtain dried polyhydroxyalkanoate particles; e) mixing the polyhydroxyalkanoate with at least one bioactive compound or organism, at least one nucleating agent, at least one filler, at least one plasticizer and at least one impact modifier or fiber to form a mixture; f) extruding the mixture as a film; and g) winding the film onto a spool.
