Abstract:
A mobile transform structure having an openable/closeable trailer body which is reversibly transformable between a closed, transportable, tractor-trailer mode and an open, ground-stabilized, spray-booth mode for receiving, and armor spray-coating, a selected surface in a subject wheeled vehicle at the location of that vehicle. The transform structure includes, in addition to the trailer body, a deployable canopy structure usable, with the trailer body open, to form a canopied spray enclosure for receiving a subject vehicle, and a trailer-self-contained, armor spray-coating system operable, when a wheeled vehicle is received in the enclosure, to armor spray-coat a selected surface in that vehicle. The method of the invention includes (a) transporting the closed trailer body to the site of such a vehicle, (b) opening that body at that site to transform it to a spray enclosure adapted for the entering and exiting of such a vehicle, and (c) and within the enclosure, and utilizing an armor spray-coating system which is self-contained on the trailer body, armor spray-coating a received vehicle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for extracting and cleaning contaminated air occurring during the application of paint. The method comprises generating an airflow toward a suction device, guiding at least part of the airflow from the environment of the surface of an object to be painted to the suction device, wherein the airflow is constricted toward the suction device. The method further comprises guiding at least part of the airflow past a surface of a filter of the suction device, by means of an air guide device, wherein said part of the airflow gradually enters the filter. The method can comprise the deposition of particles entrained by the contaminated air on the air guide device.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a movable airborne contaminant control system having a retractable/extendable booth attached in a sealing manner to a ventilation unit, preferably mounted on wheels. The ventilation unit includes a filter assembly that opens into the work are formed by the booth. Front doors support air filters. In operation, the ventilation unit draws air in a longitudinal laminar flow over one or more work pieces. The filter assembly captures both particulates and VOCs to allow the exhaust air to include an extremely low contaminant load.
Abstract:
In order to facilitate the production and performance of production at various sites in a painting or coating system having a plurality of processing stations (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 25), which are equipped with a means for carrying out one or a plurality of functions in connection with the machining of workpieces, such as particularly the application of at least one coat, particularly a paint or powder coat, onto workpieces, the pretreatment of the workpieces for the subsequent application of coats, and the after-treatment of the workpiece after the application of a coat has been completed, the invention provides that at least one of the processing stations (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 25) of the painting or coating system is disposed in at least one portable receptacle, particularly a container (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), or at least on part of the container during an operation of the painting or coating system, and that a workpiece transport device (8) is present, which is provided in the ready-state of the painting system for the simultaneous transport of individual workpieces by means of at least one of the containers.
Abstract:
An apparatus for the application of paint to an article (2) includes means (20) adapted to have one or more articles (2) removably located and retained thereon at predetermined position, an enclosure (20) which extends around the or each article (2), with that enclosure 20 including peripheral walls (31, 32) and an associated roof or top cover (33) with one or more radiant heating assemblies mounted to the enclosure (30) and means allowing for controlled movement of the enclosure (20) relative to the article retaining means (20) substantially transversely thereof.
Abstract:
Apparatus for producing a mist comprising a liquid anti-corrosion agent in a closed space, for example in a transport container, for the protection of parts which are susceptible to corrosion and are situated in the space, having a high-pressure pump (15) which is connected to a supply of the anti-corrosion agent and loads an accumulator space (3) with the anti-corrosion agent under high pressure, and having at least one spray nozzle (2) which is connected to the accumulator space (3) via a control valve (4) and sprays a defined amount of the anti-corrosion agent during brief opening of the control valve (4).
