Abstract:
A rotary apparatus (10) having a first rotating die assembly (12) and a second rotating die assembly (14) arranged in juxtaposition with one another on respective first and second sides of a strip work piece movement path, and operable in unison together to perform operations on a work piece (w) passing therebetween, each die assembly (12, 14) having a main rotor (26, 28) mounted for rotation, at least one die support body (42) supported by the main rotor (26, 28), and being swingable relative to the main rotor (26, 28), control cams (108, 110) connected the die support body (42), cam guides (100, 102, 104, 106) engageable by the control cams (108, 110), and die support body bearings (54) mounted on the main rotor (26, 28) for carrying the die support body (42). The die support body (42) can be self-adjusting to the linear speed on the work piece (w), before and after contact. The die (50A, 50B) can have a movable portion (74) which moves in or out to provide selective operation on the work piece (w). The main rotors (26, 28) are connected by a gear drive train (22,24) with anti-backlash adjustment (138). The method of operation on a work piece (w) permits formation of a continuous series of spaced apart formations in the work piece (w) and permits skipping of formations at desired intervals to produce product of specific lengths.
Abstract:
A tool for producing convexities in a plate, comprising a first (12) and a second (13) roller, where at least one roller (12, 13) has a plurality of raised parts (17) arranged in a row along a straight line and at least one roller has a plurality of recesses (16), the raised parts (17) on the first roller (12) fitting into the recesses (16) on the second roller (13). The rollers are designed to roll the plate to be thinner in areas outside of the convexities.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A rotary forming apparatus (10) having a pair of lower and upper die carrier units (14, 16), each of which is rotatable on opposite sides of a workpiece (W), and having a plurality of die supports (22, 24) swingably mounted on each of the die carriers, and supporting upper and lower dies (82, 80), and having die support guide roller pairs (66, 68) mounted together on a common axis side by side on each the die supports and located adjacent to the leading or trailing edge of the respective die support, and a guide plate (56) alongside one end of each die carrier, and, guide grooves (58, 60, 62, 64) formed in each guide plate for receiving the pairs of die support guide rollers (66, 68), the grooves being formed so as to define inner and outer guide surfaces (74, 76), with one of the die guide rollers engaging one of the inner and outer surfaces and the other of the die guide rollers engaging the other of the inner and outer guide surfaces. Also disclosed is a method of rotary forming using such apparatus.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for manufacturing plate part blanks for a heat exchanger. A sheet material (2) in the form of continuous sheeting is5 worked between two rolls (5, 6) with opposite surface patterns (7, 7', 8) to form profiled plate part blanks (3, 3',3'') into the sheet material (2) so that the rolls (5, 6) are synchronized to rotate at substantially same rate by controlling the rotation of them in relation to each other10 with common synchronization gear (9), which gear is coupled to the rolls (5, 6) by means of shafts (10, 11) with disk pack or gear couplings.
Abstract:
A join- free sealing strip 1 is disclosed for fitting to the window frame (1) of a vehicle door (5). This sealing strip has embedded therein a slotted carrier. The carrier is stretch bent (or otherwise treated) at regions L5M where there is a sharp corner to increase the rigidity of the strip (1) in these regions. At a position (O) between these regions the carrier is arranged to be relatively less rigid and to be relatively easily extendible and/or compressible. The strip (1) can be simply fitted to the door frame (3) due to the rigid sharp corner regions L5M. The relatively less rigid region (O) between the corner regions allows variations in the dimensions between different door frames (3) to be accommodated. A procedure for avoiding indentations in the flexible material of the strip (1) being visible at positions corresponding to the locations of the slots in the carrier (i.e. avoiding carrier read-through) is also disclosed. A method and apparatus for selectively forming slits in the carrier is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A device for perforating webs of foil, in particular plastic foil, has at least one pair of rollers through which the foil is moved. The pair of rollers includes a spiked roller with spikes which extend radially from its outer surface, and a mating roller held against the spiked roller and whose outer surface has a lining which can be penetrated by the point of each spike, for example an elastic outer ply. The outer surface of the spiked roller has at least one recess in which a spike is arranged in such a way that only a section of its point protrudes by a predetermined extent beyond the outer surface.
