A tool (1) has a distal operative portion and a proximal shank (2) with a mounting portion (3), for mounting the tool in a holder (10). A substancial portion of the mounting portion has a cross-sectional shape with at least one and fewer than six 60-degree segments thereof having segment ends joined by a flat surface (5). The holder has a distal axial aperture or mounting hole (12) for receiving the tool (1), the aperture having a cross-sectional shape which has 60-degree segments thereof having segment ends joined by a flat surface (13), but no more such flat surface segments than those corresponding to flat surface segments of the tool. The holder further has a ball-detent (21) mechanism or other locking mechanism for engaging the mounting portion (3) of the tool (1).

Vorliegende Erfindung liefert ein Spannsystem 1 für ein Rotationswerkzeug 70, wie beispielsweise einen Fräser oder einen Bohrer. Das Spannsystem 1 besteht aus einem Grundkörper 10, einer Spannzange 30 und einer Spannmutter 50, wobei die Spannmutter 50 das Rotationswerkzeug 70 mit Spannzange 30 innerhalb des Grundkörpers 10 kraftschlüssig verspannt. Um eine relative Drehung zwischen Grundkörper 10 und Spannzange 30 zu vermeiden, umfasst das Spannsystem 1 eine formschlüssige Verdrehsicherung, die ein Verdrehen der Spannzange 30 gegenüber dem Grundkörper 10 sperrt.

El cilindro (1) presenta un extremo troncocónico (3) dividido radialmente por aberturas (4), de las que se dimanan orificios colisos (5), con orificio hexagonal (6), apto para la barra (2).
Abstract:
The drill (20) include a shear off safety feature. The flats (21) are connected to the bit (22) via a wasted section (23) so that upon jamming of the bit in a workpiece the wasted section will twist and shear off releasing the operator. The shank of the bit is made long enough that even if it is sheared there is still enough shank so that the but may still be used to complete a drilling procedure if this be required. The shear torque is typically 15-30 ft lbs. Preferably 15-20 ft lbs for domestic drills and 20-30 ft lbs for industrial drills.

A drill bit (10) is provided with a cylindrical body portion (24) fabricated from a plastic material. The body portion is fastened in concentric, end to end relation to a cylindrical cutter (12) fabricated from a metallic material and having an array of cutting elements (16) disposed thereon. The body portion and cutter are preferably tubular, wherein the cutting elements are disposed in an annular array, to facilitate core or crown drilling operations.
