Disclosed is a machine tool for machining a workpiece with the aid of at least one tool (WZ) by having the workpiece (WS) and the tool (WZ) perform controlled positioning movements relative to each other. Said machine tool comprises a machine frame (10), a support head (20) that can be moved relative to the machine frame (10) by means of a moving unit (14), and at least one receiving device (A) which is located on the support head (20) and by means of which a workpiece (WS) or a tool (WZ) can be placed on the support head (20) such that at least some of the positioning movements can be performed using the moving unit. In order to improve said machine tool in such a way that multiple complex machining processes can be carried out in an optimal fashion, the support head (20) is mounted on a support arm (24) so as to be pivotable about a first swiveling axis (26) while said support arm (24) is mounted so as to be pivotable relative to a support base (30) about a second swiveling axis (32) that is located parallel to and at a distance from the first swiveling axis (26). Furthermore, the support base (30) can be moved relative to the machine frame (10) by means of at least one controlled axis of movement (X, Y, Z).

The inventive machine has at least one workpiece (23) clamping device (22) which can be driven around a first axis of rotation (A), and at least one tool spindle (18) which can be driven around a second axis of rotation (C). Three slides (5, 6, 7) can be moved independently of each other on a slide guide (4) by means of drive mechanisms, and are connected by guide rods (11, 12, 13) to a unit (17) which supports the tool spindle. As the slide is moved along the slide guide, so the workpiece (19) can be moved along an X-axis and a Z-axis, and turned in a certain area. The inventive machine has fewer drive mechanisms and especially slide guides than known machines of the same type and is easy to construct modularly. The masses which are moved in the inventive machine are also less than in known machines and the dynamics of the inventive machine are better as a result.

Um eine Werkzeugmaschine zur Bearbeitung eines Werkstücks mittels mindestens eines Werkzeugs durch gesteuerte Positionierbewegungen von Werkstück und Werkzeug relativ zueinander, umfassend ein Maschinengestell, einen gegenüber dem Maschinengestell mittels einer Bewegungseinheit bewegbaren Trägerkopf und mindestens eine am Trägerkopf vorgesehene Aufnahme, mittels welcher entweder für ein Werkstück oder ein Werkzeug an dem Trägerkopf angeordnet werden kann, so dass mittels der Bewegungseinheit zumindest ein Teil der Positionierbewegungen ausführbar ist, derart zu verbessern, dass vielfältige komplexe Bearbeitungen optimal ausführbar sind, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Trägerkopf um eine erste Schwenkachse schwenkbar an einem Trägerarm gehalten ist, dass der Trägerarm seinerseits um eine zur ersten Schwenkachse parallel und im Abstand von dieser angeordnete zweite Schwenkachse schwenkbar gegenüber einer Trägerbasis gelagert ist, und dass die Trägerbasis gegenüber dem Maschinengestell mittels mindestens einer gesteuerten Bewegungsachse bewegbar ist.

The invention concerns a device (7) for moving and positioning an object in a plane, comprising a base structure, a mobile supporting member (10) and moving elements (12, 14, 16) each of which capable of being moved in translation, with some degree of freedom, relatively to the base structure, and has a rigid linking part (2, 4, 6) associated therewith. Each linking part is articulated at the moving element with which it is associated and at the mobile support member, such that it has exactly one degree of freedom in rotation relative to the moving element or to the mobile supporting member. The linking parts are further arranged such that the linking parts associated with the first two moving elements can pivot about a first pivoting axis (42), relative to the mobile support member, and the linking part associated with the third moving element can pivot about a second pivoting axis (44), relative to the mobile support member. The use of said device enables, in combination with the possibility of paralleling by distribution of axial movements between the part to be machined and the tool, on machine tools, to produce a machine with strictly parallel kinematics, for five-axes machining, without requiring the use of spatially parallel kinematics.
