The cooling assembly comprising several cooling pins (1) that are connected to the same fluid inlet. Each cooling pin (1) is adapted to cool a moulded hollow plastic piece (P), and comprises a hollow blowing pipe (2) having a fluid inlet (20a) at one end and at least one fluid outlet (21a) at the opposite end, and fluid boosting means (3) for boosting by Venturi effect the cooling fluid flow at the inlet (20a) of the blowing pipe (2). The cooling assembly can be mounted on a moulding machine, and in particular an injection moulding machine.

L'invention concerne un procédé de mise en forme de préforme en matériau thermoplastique, et une installation de mise en œuvre dudit procédé. Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : a) on fournit une préforme (15) en matériau thermoplastique présentant une surface (30); b) on fournit de l'énergie thermique par rayonnement à ladite préforme (15) de manière à la rendre ductile; et, c) on met en forme ladite préforme (15) ductile à l'intérieur d'un moule de formage (26). En outre, à l'étape b), on projette simultanément un fluide gazeux à la surface (30) de ladite préforme (15) pour préserver ladite surface.

The invention relates to a method for the supplementary cooling of e.g. UV lamps for the UV-hardening of photosensitive substrates such as ink, varnish and glue in the graphical field, where some other kind of cooling in the form of e.g. liquid cooling has been established to avoid undesired heating, by collecting at least a part of the radiation emitted by the UV light source not leaving the UV lamp directly or by reflection from any of the parts of the UV lamp by supplementary, selective cooling of the quartz cover of the UV light source and at least a part of the optical units in close vicinity to said UV light source of said UV lamp, with recirculating air.

Verfahren zur Herstellung von Granulatkörnern aus einem Schmelzematerial, wobei dieses durch Pressen durch Düsenöffnungen (8) einer Lochplatte (7) in eine Schneidkammer (10) extrudiert wird. Dabei wird das aus den Düsenöffnungen der Lochplatte heraustretende Schmelzematerial zu schmelzflüssigen Granulaten durch mindestens eines über die Düsenöffnungen streifendes rotierendes Schneidmesser (9) in der Schneidkammer aufgetrennt. Ein erster Kühlfluidstrom (11) eines ersten Kühlfluidmediums wird über einen ersten Kühlfluideinlass (21) zu mindestens einer ersten Kühlfluidöffnung (31) zugeführt, mit dem das Schmelzematerial beim Austritt und Abtrennen an der Lochplatte gekühlt wird. Weiterhin wird ein zweiter Kühlfluidstrom (12) eines zweiten von dem ersten unterschiedlichen Kühlfluidmediums über einen zweiten Kühlfluideinlass (22) zu mindestens einer zweiten Kühlfluidöffnung (32) stromabwärts der Lochplatte zugeführt, mit dem die Granulate zusätzlich gekühlt und zu einem Auslass (15) der Schneidkammer geführt werden.

This disclosure provides economical and effective methods and apparatus for repairing scratches and scuffs on refillable bottle surfaces that minimally contaminates the bottle during the refurbishing process. In one aspect, the method comprises the steps of: a) adding at least one fluid into the polymeric packaging material such as a bottle to form at least a partially filled packaging material; and b) applying at least one heat source to an exterior surface of the at least partially filled packaging material to form a repaired polymeric packaging material. Apparatus and recycling systems that incorporate this method are also disclosed.

A laser welding method and apparatus especially suitable for laser welding polymer articles having low light transmissivity at the wavelength used for laser welding. A protective region is provided to the articles being welded that is designed to protect the irradiated surface from degrading during welding.
