The molded element includes a top surface with an exposed area, and a bottom surface including an area in contact with a surface portion of the tire sidewall. The molded element can include at least one design and/or information molded into the top surface exposed area. The design can include logos, pictures, and shapes. The logos can include team logos for any professional or collegiate sports team. The information can include colors and text. The design and/or information can include 3-dimensional features. The molded element bottom surface includes an adhesive having characteristics that will not degrade when in contact with the tire surface portion. The bottom layer may further include a primer to promote adhesion of the molded element to the tire and/or a woven, mesh, or knit fabric.

摘要： The marking method thus disclosed consists in making a colored pattern which is formed by at least two different colors and contrasts on a dark colored or black surface of a rubber item. The inventive method comprises a preparation stage for a composition of light colored rubber consisting of at least one elastomer, at least two different light colored coloring agents providing said composition with an initial color, followed by a stage in which a limited amount of dark colored or black masking agent is incorporated into the colored composition in order to darken or mask the initial color of the rubber composition. The marking method consists in interacting a first laser beam having the appropriate characteristics so as to create a first colored part of the pattern with a second laser beam having the appropriate characteristics to create a second colored part of the pattern.

摘要： To apply inscriptions disposed in a circle and the like to the visible surface near the tread of a vehicle tyre by vulcanization without having to remove the tyre from the rim, an apparatus has a rotary table (3) on which the tyre (R) to be treated is laid. The table can be set in rotation by a shaft secured to the table so as to remained fixed during rotation. A heated application wheel (19) mounted in a housing (18) acts on the tyre surface to which it is adjustably applied under pressure. A vulcanizable coloured strip applied to a backing layer and taken from a reserve is vulcanized on to the tyre below the application wheel (19) by rotation of the rotary table (3).

The method also includes applying the laminate to at least a portion of one of the circumferential tread and a sidewall of the vulcanized tire. The method further includes applying pressure to the laminate, thereby evacuating air between the laminate and the circumferential tread of the vulcanized tire and curing the laminate.
