Abstract:
Tyres with belt or radial carcass comprising a carcass formed of an inner reinforcing protection gaiter of which the elements are arranged transversely to the running direction. Said carcass is comprised of continuous cords or wires (2) which pass between the retaining rings or bead cores (25, 26) of the tyre body and are wound into loops aligned side by side thereby forming a common O-ring circumference at the periphery of the carcass cross-section. Such arrangement of the carcass allows to manufacture radial belt or carcass tyres according to a particularly and convenient manufacturing method. Particularly convenient apparatus for implementing such manufacturing method are also described.

A tire having a tread including first and second reinforcement plies disposed between at least one caress ply and the tread and at least one of the sidewalk of the tire. A method for making a tire body ply is also described. The method includes delivering a first rubber coating, at least one insert, a body fabric, and a second ruhber coating to a bite formed by at least two calendering rollers. The method further includes pressing the first rubber coating, the body fabric, the at least one insert, and the second rubber coating through the bite and then between the at least two calendering rollers Io form a tire body ply. In another embodiment, the method includes spacing a first insert from a center of the tire body ply by a first distance and a second insert from the center of the lire body ply by a second distance.

Process for producing a tire, including forming a toroidal blank of a casing reinforcement (1) by helically winding, around a core (N) of dimensionally stable annular construction, a wire or cable, followed by providing at least one circumferential cut on the radially inner surface of core (N) and one cut on the radially outer surface of core (N), whereafter the two blank halves are axially separated to allow the removal of the core and are drawn together from the rear and axially joined for the finishing of the tire blank.
