The present invention describes a shaped footwear device intended to be used as a supportive insole or orthotic and a system and methods for making the same. The footwear device includes a top foam layer, a light-cured composite material layer, and a bottom textile layer. The footwear device is created by conforming a pre-cured insole assembly to the plantar surface of a foot or foot mold and then exposing the pre-cured insole assembly to light to create a shaped footwear device with a light-cured composite material support plate.

A method for manufacturing the cushioning elements may include uti¬ lizing a die (310) with a plurality of die elements (312) positioned in a particular arrangement. A polymer material, which may be a poly¬ mer foam material is located between the die (310) and an extractor (320). The polymer material is compressed between the die (310) and the extractor (320), and the die elements (312) cut the polymer ma¬ terial to form a plurality of pad components, which are arranged like the die elements (312). The die (310) and the extractor (320) are sep¬ arated, and the pad components are secured to the extractor (320) in the arrangement of the die elements (312). Additionally, the pad com¬ ponents are bonded to at least one material layer such that the pad components remain in the arrangement of the die elements.

The invention relates to a method for producing customized insoles. According to the invention, injection moulds are produced by milling and the data necessary for this process is calculated using data that is individually captured from the foot of the wearer. The injection moulds produced by this method consist of a recyclable material and are therefore used only once to produce a single insole. They are then melted to form new blocks, from which new injection moulds are produced.

A fluid system for an article of footwear or other products is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, the fluid system includes a pump chamber and a pressure chamber. The pump chamber is formed to exhibit a four layer structure to imparts an expandable configuration. The four layers are bonded to each other such that the sidewall has a zigzag-shaped configuration. In another aspect of the invention, the fluid system includes two pump chambers and a pressure chamber in order to increase the resulting pressure in the pressure chamber. In yet another aspect of the invention, at least one of the two pump chambers has an expandable configuration.

The present invention relates to a shoe insole, and the purpose of the invention is to provide a functional shoe insole, wherein: a growth plate stimulation function for height and a foot reflex-zone stimulation function in accordance with individual body symptoms are performed, and the stimulated parts of the sole of a user can be easily changed according to user-desired effects and uses, by solving the problems of the existing insole in which the positions of protrusions or stimulated parts are fixed; and the stimulated positions can be readily changed, thereby improving wearing sensations and resolving drawbacks such as cause of pain and the like. In order to achieve said purpose, the invention provides a functional shoe insole used by being inserted into the inner side of a shoe, the functional shoe insole comprising: an insole body having a plurality of insertion holes; and stimulation chips that are inserted into selected insertion holes among the plurality of insertion holes, and stimulate the sole of a user on the insole body, wherein said stimulation chips are detachably inserted into the respective insertion holes so that the user can adjust the stimulated positions, and thus can change, when necessary, the insertion holes into which the stimulation chips are inserted among the plurality of insertion holes. Here, said stimulation chips comprise: outer frames which have inner regions divided into a plurality of regions by walls, and stimulate the sole by being inserted into the inside of the insertion holes; inner elastic bodies which are charged in the inside of the respective regions of the outer frames divided by the walls, and are integrally fixed therein; supports which support the outer frames from the bottom; and outer elastic bodies which are configured to surround the vicinity of the sides of the outer frames and the supports.

An example method includes providing a polymer processing system (100), providing a mold (150) having at least one expandable mold cavity (152) in fluid communication with the polymer processing system (100), mixing polymeric material and blowing agent within the polymer processing system (100) to produce a unfoamed mixture, injecting a volume of the mixture of polymeric material and blowing agent from the polymer processing system (100) and into the expandable mold cavity (152), and expanding the mold cavity (152) to expand the unfoamed mixture within the mold cavity (152) and form a foamed preform. Thereafter, the foamed preform may be inserted into a compression mold to press-form the foamed preform into a finished part.
