A method for refinishing a damaged area of a substrate, such as an existing finish on a vehicle which includes the steps of preparing a damaged area for refinishing, by cleaning and/or sanding, providing a multi-component coating composition which includes at least two components having functional groups reactive with each other in a crosslinking reaction and spreading the coating composition onto the area to be refinished using a squeegee applicator.
Abstract:
Polarizing beam splitter plates and systems incorporating such beam splitter plates are described. The polarizing beam splitter plate includes a first substrate and a multilayer optical film reflective polarizer that is disposed on the first substrate. The polarizing beam splitter plate includes a first outermost major surface and an opposing second outermost major surface that makes an angle of less than about 20 degrees with the first outermost major surface. The polarizing beam splitter plate is adapted to reflect an imaged light received from an imager towards a viewer or screen with the reflected imaged light having an effective pixel resolution of less than 12 microns.

A chemical composition and method of applying same between glass and attached layer(s) of polyester or other plastic safety/security films to enhance the bonding of the applied adhesive therebetween as well as the strength of the glass laminate construction. In a preferred embodiment, the chemical composition is an acrylic-based mixture, containing alcohol, glycol, a slip agent, and a wetting agent. In an alternative preferred embodiment, the chemical composition is a silane-based mixture, containing alcohol, glycol, and a slip agent. The preferred embodiments of the invention are used in combination with currently available glass laminate systems to enhance the bonding and adhesion thereof.
Abstract:
Methods of adhering graphic film on an irregular substrate are disclosed. The methods includes providing a polymer film composite having two or more layers with at least one layer having a glass transition temperature of at least about 40°C, the polymer film composite having a first side and a second side, and an adhesive layer disposed on the second side. Then the method includes, positioning the adhesive layer against the irregular substrate, heating the polymer film composite, and pressing the heated polymer film against the irregular substrate.

An applicator (30) for applying a sealing film (10) to a vent for sealing the vent includes a first elongate member (36), a second elongate member (40) having a bore extending along its length and receiving the first member (36) within the bore, where the first elongate member (36) is longer than the second elongate member (40) and where first and second end portions (52) of the first elongate member (36) extend beyond first and second end portions of the second elongate member (40), and where the second elongate member (40) is rotatable to various orientations relative to the first elongate member (36) about a longitudinal axis.
