Abstract:
A three-dimensional substrate has a first surface, a second surface, land areas and comprises three-dimensional protrusions extending outward from the second surface of the three-dimensional substrate. The three-dimensional protrusions are surrounded by the land areas. The three-dimensional substrate is a laminate comprising at least two layers in a face to face relationship. The second layer comprise a tissue layer facing outward from the second surface of the three-dimensional substrate. The tissue layer comprises at least 80% pulp fibers by weight of the tissue layer.
Abstract:
Provided are methods for preparing fabric laminated with polymer film(s) and the laminated fabric prepared according to the methods disclosed herein. The laminated fabric has flexibility similar to fabric not laminated with polymer films and improved adhesion and tensile strength.

Abstract:
A soft armor panel is provided by work softening a panel formed of a ballistic material. The panel also includes slip planes between adjacent ply groups, the adjacent ply groups remaining unconnected or substantially unconnected at the slip plane. The soft, or conformable, body armor, is resistant to various projectile threats, in which the panel is made by work-softening an otherwise rigid panel. The soft armor panel includes a work softened lamination of a plurality of ply groups. Each ply group comprises one or more layers, each layer comprising a composite material of fibers embedded in a matrix material. A slip plane is disposed between at least one set of adjacent ply groups, such that the adjacent ply groups remain unconnected or substantially unconnected at the slip plane. The softened ballistic panel retains significant ballistic properties, is light weight and can be readily conformed to various torso configurations.
Abstract:
A structure or laminate comprising a fibrous reinforcement material and a reinforcement resin material are described, wherein the structure or laminate further comprises a tack material, the tack material increasing the surface tack of the structure or laminate over a tack temperature range of from -10°C to 50°C in comparison to the original surface tack of the structure or laminate in the absence of the tack material over the same tack temperature range.

Abstract:
Reinforced wood flooring according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a surface layer having a plurality of wood sheets and a sheet impregnated with resin, wherein each of the wood sheets has a predetermined thickness and are plate-shaped, the sheet impregnated with resin is interposed between the wood sheets, and the wood sheets and the sheet impregnated with resin are bonded together into a unitary body through hot pressing; an adhesive layer formed beneath the surface layer to serve as an adhesive; and plywood arranged beneath the adhesive layer and attached to the lower surface of the surface layer by means of the adhesive layer.
Abstract:
A novel cross-plied material is formed of portions of a ply of a ballistic-resistant structure composed of unidirectionally-oriented bundles of high strength filaments laminated between opposing thermoplastic films which portions are cross-plied with portions of a continuous ply of a similar ballistic-resistant structure with a plurality of yarns laterally spaced into a linear array corresponding to the width of the continuous ply along the ply direction. Substantially continuous coatings or deposits of a bonding or coupling agent on the yarns cause a plurality of substantially continuous bonding strips to be formed between the continuous ply and the portions of cross-ply, with the bonding strips being laid in a laterally spaced linear array corresponding to the yarns. The bonding strips couple the cross-ply portions with consecutive portions of the continuous ply, whereby the continuous ply and the cross-ply portions are adhered sufficiently to prevent their being pulled apart.
