Anti-roll bar (10) comprising a torsion element (12) for pivotable connection to a first vehicle component, and swing arms (14) each with a first end (16) firmly connected to opposite ends of the torsion element and each with a second end (18) having bearing means (20, 22) for pivotable connection to a second vehicle component (60). According to the invention, one or more spacing means (30) is/are connectable to the swing arm (14) in order to alter the effective length of the swing arm (14).

A frame for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a pair of spaced-apart, parallel, elongated, and longitudinally-extending main members. At least a pair of transverse cross members extend between and are attached to the main members, and each one of at least a pair of hangers is attached to and depends from a respective one of the main members and/or the cross members. A component is disposed between each one of the hangers and its respective main member, or alternatively is incorporated into the hangers, for absorbing the energy that is created by an extreme event during vehicle operation, to reduce the possibility of damage to the main members and/or the cross members caused by movement of at least one of the hangers during the extreme event.

The invention relates to a joining device for joining a vehicle's frame (1) to a wheel suspension (2) for a vehicle. The joining device comprises a V-shaped stay (3) where the V-stay is mounted on the wheel suspension (2) via a bearing (5). The bearing (5) comprises an internal bearing element with an external partly spherical abutment surface and an external bearing element with an internal partly spherical abutment surface, which bearing in a normal position of the vehicle has a centre axis (14, 200) oriented substantially perpendicularly relative to a base on which the vehicle is located. According to the invention the internal bearing element comprises a stopper element (30, 302, 405) which cooperates with a locking portion (33, 401, 401') of the external bearing element and prevents the external bearing element from unintentionally being released from the internal bearing element. The stopper element (30, 302, 405) in a plane substantially perpendicular to the centre axis, forms an elongated cross section with a longitudinal direction of the cross section oriented in a direction substantially across the vehicle.

A supplementary vehicle spring assembly for a leaf spring of a vehicle is provided, the leaf spring defining a fixed end and a free end. The supplementary vehicle spring assembly comprises a first tension spring arrangement fitted to the fixed end of the leaf spring, a second tension spring arrangement fitted to the free end of the leaf spring, and a bracket arrangement proximate an axle of the vehicle, the bracket arrangement connecting the first and second tension spring arrangements. The first and second tension spring arrangements each comprise a connector arm for securing the arrangements to the respective ends of the leaf spring, a first connector rod extending from the connector arm and being secured to a first end of at least one tension spring, and a second connector rod extending from a second end of the tension spring, the second connector rods securing the first and second tension spring arrangements to opposite ends of the bracket arrangement.

A suspension assembly of an axle/suspension system for a heavy-duty vehicle is mounted on the heavy-duty vehicle frame or sub-frame via a beam of the suspension assembly which is pivotally connected to a hanger connected to the vehicle frame. The pivotal connection includes the hanger, the beam, a bushing assembly and a fastener group, and a textured feature formed in at least one of at least a portion of the hanger, at least a portion of the bushing assembly, or at least a portion of the fastening means so that the textured feature inhibits relative movement of the bushing assembly with respect to the hanger.
