A suspension for a motocycle wheel comprises an elastic element (1) C-shaped in the bending plane and hingedly connected by its end to the pendulum lever (5) carrying the wheel and to the frame of the motocycle. The elastic element (1) in the suspension makes it possible to improve the performance characteristics of the motocycle due to the increased elasticity of the extreme parts of the elastic element (1) which operate as a leaf spring in the directions of least resistance, whereas in its middle part the elastic element (1) operates in the direction of greatest resistance.

The invention relates to an articulation for bicycles. A bicycle is equipped with various different bearings and articulations. The majority of these articulations are not rotative, but are configured unnecessarily in prior art as articulations capable of rotation, using anti-friction or sliding bearings. The requirements for articulations in bicycles which are partly contradictory are as follows: high degree of rigidity with the lowest possible weight, absence of play, low bearing friction for optimal responsiveness, no maintenance and no wear. In prior art the solutions have always led to compromises which entail corresponding disadvantages. The novel articulation aims to replace conventional bearings (in the case of the non-rotative bearings on a bicycle), in order to eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages. The articulation (3) thus consists of several flexible, elastic articulation blades (2) which join together the two components (1, 1'). Each end of the respective articulation blade (2) is connected in a rigid manner to one of the two components (1). The articulation blades (2) are arranged in such a way that only a rotational displacement about a rotational axis is permitted and any translatory motion or rotational displacement in another direction is prevented. The articulation (3) can be used for all types of non-rotative bearings on a bicycle, for example, for all bearings in sprung rear structures on a bicycle.

The present invention provides a bicycle comprising wheels and a frame supported on the wheels. The frame includes a seatstay assembly defining a seatstay axis and including a spring assembly having a spring member (e.g., a leaf spring) at an angle of at least 5 degrees relative to the seatstay axis. The spring member has a width that is at least 4 times larger than its thickness. The present invention also provides a bicycle comprising a frame that includes a seat tube and a seatstay assembly defining a seatstay axis. The seatstay assembly includes a spring member offset from the seatstay axis and non-parallel to the seatstsay axis. In one embodiment, the seatstay assembly further includes a seatstay tube, and the spring member includes a rear portion secured to the seastay tube. The spring member can also include a front portion secured to a seat tube of the bicycle frame.

This invention relates to a vehicle suspension system where two or more flexible members (3401a, 3402a) are arranged in a non- planar way with a distance there between. These flexible members (3401a, 3402a) are being rigidly mounted between a frame structure (109) of a vehicle and a wheel structure (111) of the vehicle and the arrangement of the flexible members (3401a, 3402a) is so as to provide guided suspension and being resistive against forces other than those in the intended direction of the suspension movement.

A bicycle seat support that resiliently supports a bicycle seat. The support comprises an upper engagement member adapted to support a bicycle seat, a lower engagement member adapted to engage a bicycle frame, and a compliant support assembly coupling the upper engagement member to the lower engagement member. The compliant support assembly includes a first and second cantilevered springs defining a gap, and a resilient member (e.g., an elastomer) positioned in the gap. The bicycle seat support can include an elbow joint coupling the lower engagement member to the compliant support assembly. Preferably, the elbow joint comprises an upper portion that sandwiches the first and second cantilevered springs, and a lower portion positioned in a recess in the lower engagement member. The lower engagement member can also include a resilient bump stop adapted to limit downward movement of the upper engagement portion.
