Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (10) zur Erfassung von Materialeigenschaften einer Packstoffbahn (5), insbesondere in einer Verpackungsmaschine (100), mit einer Sensoreinrichtung (20), die dazu ausgebildet ist, Reibwerte (µ) oder eine Bahnspannung (S) der Packstoffbahn (5) zu ermitteln, wobei die Sensoreinrichtung (20) im Bereich einer ersten Umlenkeinrichtung (21) für die Packstoffbahn (5) angeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist es vorgesehen, dass eine Einrichtung (25) zum Zuführen und Weiterleiten der Packstoffbahn (5) zu und von der ersten Umlenkeinrichtung (21) vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgebildet ist, in einem ersten Betriebszustand die Packstoffbahn (5) zu fixieren und in einem zweiten Betriebszustand die Packstoffbahn (5) vorzugsweise reibungsarm zu führen, und dass die Sensoreinrichtung (20) dazu ausgebildet ist, sowohl Reibwerte (µ) als auch Bahnspannungen (S) der Packstoffbahn (5) zu erfassen.

An apparatus (un-interleaver) for unwinding a roll of material interleaved with another material, and for separating the materials, includes a first platform, a second platform, a tension-sensor, an edge-sensor, and a controller. The controller monitors signals generated by the tension-sensor and the edge-sensor, and in response to the signals: a) causes the speed at which the second platform rotates to change to maintain a predetermined tension in the second material as the second material travels from the first platform toward the second platform, and b) causes the second platform to move relative to the first platform to align the edge of the second material traveling toward the roll of second material with the edge of the second material in the roll.

The invention relates to a device (1) for measuring tension or a tension alteration in a paper web (5), comprising at least one measurement device consisting of a number of measurement bodies (6) and a number of fluid supply devices (2), which are intended to apply a fluid pressure to the said web (5). In accordance with the invention, the fluid supply devices (2) are so arranged as to subject the web to an essentially constant fluid pressure in order to provide a fluid cushion between the web (5) and the measurement bodies (6), the measurement bodies (6) are so arranged as to apply pressure to the web (5) without making contact, the said measurement bodies (6) are so arranged as to be capable of displacement, and the position of the said measurement bodies (6) in the normal direction of the web (5) is altered depending on variations in the constitution of the web (5). The invention also relates to a method for measuring web tension and a machine comprising a device for measuring web tension.

A method of controlling tension in a material (10) handling process. An error signal of the process is determined. The velocity analog value of the material is determined and an instantaneous integral gain is then determined according to the velocity analog value. A proportional gain is determined. A first material parameter threshold value is determined. A first material parameter analog value is measured. The output of a controller (60) is then adjusted according to the error signal, the instantaneous integral gain, and the proportional gain. The adjustment of a process output according to the instantaneous integral gain is controlled according to the relative values of the first material parameter threshold value and the first material parameter analog value.

An apparatus and method for the non-contact measurement of tension in a moving web material (11) are provided herein. In one embodiment the apparatus includes a non-contacting tension-sensing element, such as an airfoil (500), disposed transverse to the machine direction of the web material, at least one sensor (400) capable of detecting a reaction of the non-contacting tension-sensing element to changes in the tension of the moving web material and a data processing system capable (500) of determining a web tension analog value that is proportional to the tension of the web material (11).

The invention relates to a method and a device in connection withweb tension measurement. In the method, the tension of a web (W) is measured by a measurement bar (20) placed in the vicinity of the web, the measurement bar having an outer surface (21) which is curved in the running direction (S) of the web (W), and in which an air cushion is formed between the moving web(W) and the curved surface (21). In the method, the web (W) is dried by a web drying device (22,23,24;25,26,27) provided in the immediate vicinityof the measurement bar (20).

Device for longitudinal division of a band (2) into several strips (4a, 4b) and for winding the strips (4a, 4b) onto a reel (6). To ensure alignment of the edges of the individual strips (4a, 4b) on the reel, the traction exerted on each strip (4a, 4b) on the reel (6) common to all strips is controlled at a constant value. In addition, an individually adjustable control roll (5a, 5b) for each strip (4a, 4b) acts as a guiding element for the strips.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Meßvorrichtung zur Bestimmung der Bandkantenlage, der Bandbreite und/oder der Zugspannungsverteilung über die Bandbreite eines Bandes in einer Bandbehandlungsanlage mit einer Umlenkrolle und einem Wellensender und einem Wellenempfänger, wobei der Wellensender so ausgerichtet ist, daß in seinem Wellenausbreitungswinkel ausgesendete Wellen auf die Umfangsf lache der Umlenkrolle treffen, und zwar in dem Bereich der Umfangsf lache der Umlenkrolle, in der die Bandkante des von der Umlenkrolle umgelenkten Bands auf der Umfangsf lache aufliegt, oder daß der Wellensender so ausgerichtet ist, daß sich in seinem Wellenausbreitungswinkel ausgesendete Wellen in dem Bereich der Umfangsf lache der Umlenkrolle, in der die Bandkante des von der Umlenkrolle umgelenkten Bands auf der Umfangsf lache aufliegt, parallel zur Umfangsf lache der Umlenkrolle und in einem Abstand, der maximal der Banddicke entspricht, ausbreiten. Zur Bestimmung der Zugspannungsverteilung sind in der Umlenkrolle Sensoren vorgesehen, die in Radialrichtung der Umlenkrolle wirkende Kräfte messen können.
