The sub-pixel structure has an electroluminescent phosphor, which emits blue light, and a photoluminescent phosphor, which emits at least one other color as a result of absorption of the blue light. Luminescent compositions are described comprising lanthanide-containing nanoclusters comprising lanthanide atoms bonded to at least one semimetal or transition metal via an oxygen or sulfur atom. Novel compositions include an antenna ligand complexed with the nanoclusters. The rare earth-metal nanoclusters are in the size range of 1 to 100 nm. Articles, such as solar cells, are described in which the nanoclusters (with or without antenna ligands) are dispersed in a polymer matrix. Novel methods of making luminescent films are also described.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Mittel zur Beschichtung von Artikeln und Produkten zur Sicherheit im Straßenverkehr, Verfahren zur Herstellung und Anwendungen dergleichen, und dessen spezifische Zusammensetzung hierfür, sowie ein Verfahren zur Kodierung von Verkehrseinrichtungen, Verkehrszeichen und anderen Ausstattungen des Straßenverkehrs mit einem lumineszierenden Material, und zur multifunktionalen Markierung von Flächen des Straßenverkehrs z.B. eines Streifens einer Fahrbahn mit einem Kunststoff. Die vorliegende Erfindung erzielt dabei eine große Performanz und erhöhte optische Sichtbarkeit, insbesondere Nachtsichtbarkeit. Hierfür stellt die Erfindung einen Oberflächenfunktionalisierten Luminophor mit verbesserter Dispergierfähigkeit bereit.

This invention relates to luminescent materials for ultraviolet light or visible light excitation containing lead and/or copper doped chemical compounds. The luminescent material is composed of one or more than one compounds of aluminate type, silicate type, antimonate type, germanate/or germanate- silicate type, and/or phosphate type. Accordingly, the present invention is a good possibility to substitute earth alkaline ions by lead and copper for a shifting of the emission bands to longer or shorter wave length, respectively. Luminescent compounds containing copper and/or lead with improved luminescent properties and also with improved stability against water, humidity as well as other polar solvents are provided. The present invention is to provide lead and/or copper doped luminescent compounds, which has high color temperature range about 2,00OK to 8,000K or 10,000K and CRI over 90.
