An article of footwear including a full monofilament upper is described. The full monofilament upper incorporates a knitted component including a monofilament knit element. The monofilament knit element is formed by knitting with a monofilament strand. The monofilament knit element is formed of unitary knit construction with the remaining portions of the knitted component, including peripheral portions that are knit using a natural or synthetic twisted fiber yarn. An inlaid tensile element can extend through the knitted component, including portions of the monofilament knit element. The monofilament knit element may be knitted with a monofilament strand according to a variety of knit structures. A fusible strand may be knit with the monofilament knit element. Upon heating, the fusible strand can combine and surround the monofilament strand within the monofilament knit element.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Matratzenbezug, der zumindest auf einer Vorderseite einen als Rundstrickware hergestellten, Maschenreihen und Maschenstäbchen aufweisenden Bezugsstoff (8) enthält, der mit einer Mehrzahl von in einer Liegerichtung (v) aufeinander folgenden, unterschiedliche Eigenschaften aufweisenden Zonen (18 bis 22) versehen ist. Erfindungsgemäß sind die Maschenstäbchen parallel zur Liegerichtung (v) erstreckt und die unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften zumindest überwiegend durch mit unterschiedlichen Fäden gestrickte Maschenreihen erzeugt (Fig. 4).

A method of packaging a product comprising knitting a thread into a generally tubular open knit mesh and feeding a product into the mesh as the mesh is being knitted. This produces a packaged article comprising a plurality of products contained within an open knit thread mesh. The products may be released by unraveling the mesh at one end by drawing a thread of the mesh away from the mesh to release a product as required. There is also disclosed a circular knitting machine comprising a cylinder having a plurality of knitting needles about the periphery thereof arranged to knit a generally tubular thread mesh wherein the needles are spaced about the periphery of the cylinder and operate so as to produce an open knit mesh.

Luminant fabrics are disclosed in which an electro-luminescent material is activated by electrodes within the fabric. A particular yarn for use in such a fabric has a conductive core (40) having a layer (44) coated thereon. A conductive layer in the form of a strip or wire (48) can be disposed over the electro-luminescent layer (44), such that the application of a voltage between the core and the outer layer activates the luminescent material.

The present invention relates the non-invasive monitoring and in particular it refers to a wearable system for the monitoring of vital signals (cardiovascular, respiratory and an index of movement) to be used for the detection of potential pathologies via the acquisition, elaboration and transmission of signals, where the sensitive elements are done with knitted fabric, in direct contact with the body and that could be, if necessary, elastic, where yarns, having characteristics that allows the production of fabric piezoresistive regions and fabric conductive regions working as electrodes or connections, are integrated.

A zoned moisture management garment is presented, which provides one-way moisture transport from a wearer's body and zones of different moisture management performance. By incorporating dissolvable yarns, removable by a printable paste, with non- dissolvable yarns of different denier per filament, zoned garments with a denier differential mechanism can be created. The zoned garment optimizes evaporative cooling and wicking zones of a garment based upon a sweat profile and contact profile of the wearer.

A textile electrode material comprises an electrically conductive textile sheet material having a first sheet resistance. According to the invention the electrical properties of at least one specific region of said textile sheet material are modified with respect to the other regions so that in said specific region the textile electrode has a second sheet resistance, which is substantially lower than said first sheet resistance.
