摘要:

Luminant fabrics are disclosed in which an electro-luminescent material is activated by electrodes within the fabric. A particular yarn for use in such a fabric has a conductive core (40) having a layer (44) coated thereon. A conductive layer in the form of a strip or wire (48) can be disposed over the electro-luminescent layer (44), such that the application of a voltage between the core and the outer layer activates the luminescent material.

The present invention is an apparatus and method of making yarn for carpet that exhibits a high degree of color pop. More specifically, in one aspect, the present invention comprises an apparatus and method that comprises supplying a plurality of yarns, false-twist the plurality of yarns, and passing the consolidated yarn through a downstream entangling assembly (20) to tack at least a portion of the consolidated yarn. Another aspect of the present invention passes at least one of the plurality of yarns through one of a plurality of second entangling assemblies (30) positioned upstream of the false-twist apparatus (10).
摘要:
Multicolor flooring articles such as carpets are made from combined yarns (10) of at least three component yarns. At least one of the component yarns (1, 2, 3) is an acid dyeable nylon yarn; at least one of the component yarns is a cationically dyeable nylon yarn; and at least one of the component yarns is a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarn. The component yarns (1, 2, 3) are combined either by commingling with air or by cable twisting. The combined yarns (10) are tufted or woven into a carpet. When dyed using acid, cationic and carrier-free disperse dyestuffs of different colors, the resulting carpet exhibits at least three different colors.
摘要:
A method for authenticating a textile product wherein a colorless composition is applied to at least one portion of at least one thread of the textile product. The composition includes one of a pair of colorformer (A, B) and an activator (22) which react when mixed to produce a spectral response (23). The textile product is authenticated as genuine by applying the other of the pair of colorformer and activator to at least one portion of the at least one thread to produce the spectral response. The textile product may be a thread (21) or a woven label (20).

This invention relates to a new cable-twisting process for making yarns suitable for use in carpets. The process involves cable-twisting together two component yarns (E,F). At least one of the component yarns comprises two single yarns (1, 2; 11, 12) co-twisted together. The singles yarns (1, 2; 11, 12) may be differentially colored to provide the resulting multi-colored cable-twisted yarn with good color separation and vividness.

The present invention provides a sparkling dyed double covered yarn comprising: (i) a core yarn; (ii) a first sheath yarn made of a bright polyamide yarn wound around the core yarn to form a single covered yarn; and (iii) a second sheath yarn made of a dyed polyamide yarn wound around said single covered yarn to form a double covered yarn; wherein the first sheath yarn and the second sheath yarn are wound in the same direction. The invention further provides processes for manufacturing a sparkling dyed double covered yarn and fabrics comprising the same.
摘要:
Intermittently colored yarns having an intermittent and random dye spacing pattern, and systems and methods of making the same, are disclosed. Such intermittently colored yarns exhibit higher quality and lower manufacturing costs over the known intermittently colored yarns. The intermittent coloring takes place while the yarn is in caterpillar form. Carpets made from such intermittently colored yarns exhibit enhanced aesthetics over carpets made from known intermittently colored yarns. Alternatively, a stain resist, colorless base dye, or bleaching agent can be applied in the same intermittent and random spacing pattern to the intermittently colored yarns prior to subsequent dyeing. This creates a mirror image like color effect to the resulting yarn.
