Abstract:
The present application is generally directed to an expandable sleeve component of an implantable penile prosthesis, to a prosthesis containing the sleeve, and to related methods of preparation and use. More specifically, the present application is directed to an implantable penile prosthesis having a cylindrical polymeric (e.g., extruded, molded, etc.) sleeve for controlling cylinder expansion upon placement of the prosthesis within a corpus cavemosum and expansion during use.

A system for studying the behavior of an animal in an experimental area including a stimulus device for stimulating the animal; a data collection device for collecting data from the animal; a device for analyzing the collected data; and a device for developing a quantitative behavioral primitive from the analyzed data. A computer implemented method, a computer system and a nontransitory computer readable storage medium related to the same. Also, a method and apparatus for automatically discovering, characterizing and classifying the behavior of an animal in an experimental area. Further, use of a depth camera and/or a touch sensitive device related to the same.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include systems and methods of operation with respect to well logging. The systems and methods can include a number of transmitter sensors and a number of receiving sensors arranged to operate as a system including one or more multi-pole sensors. Such systems may be controlled to generate deep high-order azimuthal sensitivity. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for visualizing image material in a multimodal imaging environment. Images (XF, USV) from an X-ray imager (100) and an ultrasound probe (USP) are fused into an interactive graphics display (GUI) to form a 3D scene, where, alongside to a 3D rendering (USS) of an ultrasound volume (USV) an X-Ray projection plan (XF) is displayed in perspective within the same scene. The rendering is according to a user selected view (UV) which is changeable upon user interaction with the interactive graphics display (GUI).
Abstract:
A magnetic resonance (MR) imaging system (100) including a housing (102) having first and second openings (110, 116), and first and second solenoid coils (160, 150), the first and second solenoid coils (160, 150) generate a magnetic field suitable for imaging within a region of interest (ROI). The first and second solenoid coils (160, 150) have a common longitudinal axis (LA). The first and second openings (110, 116) are situated on opposite sides of the housing (102) along the longitudinal axis (LA). The first solenoid coil (160) has a different inside diameter than the second solenoid coil (150) and is positioned adjacent the first opening (110). The second solenoid coil (150) is positioned adjacent the second opening (116). Accordingly, the system provides improved access to the patent during imaging, e.g. for MR guided interventional procedures.
Abstract:
A medical device such as a cannula, catheter, needle or biosensing probe includes an elongated body for penetrating, inserting and/or positioning in or through the skin of a patient. The elongated body has an outer surface that when positioned in the patient with a coefficient of friction sufficient to inhibit movement between the elongated body on the skin at the insertion site to inhibit irritation at the infusion site. A lubricious coating is provided on the elongated body to assist in penetration and/or insertion of the elongated body into the patient. The lubricious coating can be removed by a shearing action by the insertion of the elongated body into the patient and/or by absorption of the lubricious coating to expose the outer surface of the elongated member.
Abstract:
An insufflation and smoke evacuation system for use during laparoscopic surgical procedures in an abdominal cavity of a patient is disclosed that includes a pump for circulating pressurized gas within the system, and a dual lumen cannula configured to provide access to the abdominal cavity of a patient, which includes a first lumen communicating with a source of insufflation fluid and a second lumen communicating with the pump.
Abstract:
A medical apparatus is adapted to facilitate a transfer of data to a computer system using a mobile device. The apparatus has a store of data, a display and a controller that generates a barcode encoding an access address for the computer system and the data, and displaying the barcode on the display.
Abstract:
A photoacoustic medical-imaging device includes a wavelength conversion assembly (108) configured for outputting laser pulses at a targeted wavelength. It also includes a photoacoustic probe configured for acoustic coupling to a patient, for directing the pulses, and for acquiring, in response, radiofrequency data for photoacoustic imaging. It may include an optical fiber bundle (120) that comprises an optical fiber having an input end, and be configured for illuminating, with a homogenous beam, so as to conform to an acceptance angle (160) of the fiber at that end. It may also include a light collimator, and a diffuser for receiving the outputted laser pulses from the collimator. The diffuser may be configured for spreading a focus of the pulsed light (148) over an input aperture of the bundle to equalize the light received by different constituent optical fibers of the bundle. The assembly may include a dye cell (132), and may reside in the probe.
