Abstract:
An air duct assembly includes upper and lower pliable sheets that can be assembled in a sequence that makes the assembly easier to install and later easier to remove for periodic cleaning. To install the assembly, the upper sheet can be installed first by inserting the edges of the upper sheet within a pair of tracks and then fastening the upper sheet to a vertical supply air duct. An optional airflow modifier (e.g., filter, airflow turning vane, or noise attenuator) can be install where the supply air duct connects to the upper sheet. Once the upper sheet is suspended from the tracks and fastened to the main supply air duct, the lower sheet can be installed separately. Pliable end panels and pliable fasteners (e.g., zipper or VELCRO fastener) can make most of the air duct assembly machine washable. The upper and lower sheets can have different degrees of air permeability.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a fluid connection including a plurality of flexible polymeric tubes; an integral fluid connector coupled to and in fluid communication with each of the plurality of tubes; and a shell disposed over and encapsulating the fluid connector. The fluid connection surprisingly exhibiting significant increases in the working pressure, particularly in biopharmaceutical fluid transfer systems.
Abstract:
A high strength T-joint (60) for an inflatable tubular member (26) is formed by forming a butt joint between the end of a first tubular member (46) and the side wall of a second tubular member (26). The opening (64) in the side wall of the second tubular member (26) is sized to match the end of the first tubular member (46) so that a sealing flange (66) can be applied to the inner surface of the joint to provide an airtight seal. A reinforcing flange (76) comprising a disk-shaped piece of fabric having a center opening (80) is then bonded over the opening (64) in the second tubular member (26). The center opening (80) in the reinforcing flange (76) is substantially smaller than the opening (64) in the second tubular member (26). Therefore the reinforcing flange (76) substantially reduces the size of the discontinuity in the side wall of the second tubular member (46), thereby substantially increasing the circumferential ("hoop") load capacity of the side wall of the second tubular member (26) and substantially increasing the rupture pressure of the joint (60).
Abstract:
An irrigation pipe with a plurality of connector elements adapted for attachment of lateral branches thereto, where the connector elements are integrally fitted to the pipe's wall during the manufacture. Connector elements may be fitted open and be adapted for closing after manufacture if not intended for use, or may be fitted closed and be adapted for opening after manufacture to enable the attachment. A method of production of such irrigation pipe from a strip of flexible weldable or bondable material includes fitting integrally the connector elements to predetermined locations on the strip, with or without punching the strip; bending or twisting the strip so as to juxtapose or overlap lateral edges thereof; and welding or bonding integrally the edges so as to obtain a closed pipe section.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a pipe (1) having at least one end (2) forming a connecting section (4), comprising an elastic internal tubular sheathing whereof the external surface (5) closely co-operates with the pipe end internal surface (6). The invention also concerns a method and a device for making the connecting section.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for locking the jointing of a plastic tube (4) on a connecting piece (1), characterised in that it consists in the following: selecting a connecting piece (1) with external ring-shaped bulges (2, 3), causing at least an elastic deformation of a ring-shaped portion of the tube to force it into at least one ring-shaped recess (3) of the connecting piece (1) by applying under pressure a fluid material capable of being solidified around the tube portion and blocking the tube thus deformed on the connecting piece by bringing about the solidification of the material applied under pressure.

Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hose fitment, particularly for the connection of disposable food containers to dispensing lines of food dispenser and the like. The hose fitment of the invention is adapted to securely establish fluid connection between a hose (2) and hose retaining means (1) of a food or beverage dispensing line; the hose fitment comprising a body member (10) having a first engaging surface (41) for internally engaging a hose end (40) and a sleeve member (180) comprising a second engaging surface that externally engages around the hose end to press on the hose end against the first engaging surface in a manner effective to create a tight seal between the fitment and the hose end.
