    摘要: A mezzanine receptacle connector (104) includes a housing (112) having a mating end (134) for mating with a mezzanine header connector and a mounting end (136) for mounting to a circuit board. The housing is elongated along a longitudinal axis (132). The housing holds receptacle contacts (118) having mating ends with deflectable spring beams for termination to corresponding header contacts of the mezzanine header connector. The housing holds a ground lattice (128) comprising longitudinal receptacle ground shields (122) extending longitudinally within the housing generally parallel to the longitudinal axis (132), and lateral receptacle ground shields (120) extending laterally within the housing generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The longitudinal receptacle ground shields are mechanically and electrically connected to the lateral receptacle ground shields to form the ground lattice. The ground lattice provides electrical shielding for the receptacle contacts.

    摘要: An electrical connector provides shielded signal pathways. The electrical connector includes a shield plate, a first finger that extends from an edge of the shield plate, and a second finger that extends from the edged of the shield and that is adjacent to the first finger. A channel is formed between the first finger and the second finger. A coupling is placed within the channel adjacent the first finger. The coupling includes a contact, a first connecting arm extending from a first end of the contact to a first portion of the first finger, and a second connecting arm extending from a second end of the contact to a second portion of the first finger. The first connecting arm and the second connecting arm provide at least two current paths from the contact to the first finger.

    摘要: An electrical interconnection system with high speed, high density electrical connectors. One of the connectors includes a mating contact portion that generates contact force as it is compressed against a wall of the connector housing. The mating contact portion has multiple segments, each with a contact region extending from the wall, such that multiple points of contact to a complementary mating contact portion in a mating connector are provided for mechanical robustness. Additionally, each signal path through the mating interface portions of the connectors can be narrow and has a relatively uniform cross section to provide a uniform impedance. Additional size reduction may be achieved by mounting a ground contact on an exterior surface of a connector housing in alternating rows. Additionally, embodiments in which a wavy contact is used in a cantilevered configuration are also described.

    摘要: An electrical connector with electrically lossy materials bridging ground members. The lossy conductive members may be formed by filling a settable binder with conductive particles, allowing the partially conductive members to be formed through an insert molding process. Connectors assembled from wafers that contain signal conductors held within an insulative housing may incorporate lossy conductive members by having filled thermal plastic molded onto the insulatative housing. The lossy conductive members may be used in conjunction with magnetically lossy materials. The lossy conductive members reduce ground system do resonance within the connector, thereby increasing the high frequency performance of the connector.

    摘要: An electrical connector comprising an insulative housing having a top, a bottom and two sidewalls interconnecting to form a mating face at one end and a rear face at another end and whereby there is a mating slot formed at the mating face for receiving a complementary connector; a first set of contacts mounted in a first set of channels incorporated at the top of the insulative housing and a second set of contacts mounted in a second set of channels incorporated at the bottom of the insulative housing; and a shielding device located between the first set of contacts and the second set of contacts. In one embodiment, a method of interconnecting multiple devices comprising the steps of stacking a plurality of connectors one above the other, wherein at least the bottom connector is a board mount connector; aligning a first set of terminals in each connector to a second set of terminals in each connector; shielding the signals of the first set of terminals and the signals of the second set of terminals from each other by incorporating a shielding device between the first set of terminals and the second set of terminals; and tapering the terminals at the board mount end of the connectors.
