Abstract:
An infuser tip can be used to assist penetration of cosmetic formulas through the outer layer of human skin. Generally described, the infuser tip includes a concave surface or a similarly structured area that retains formula to generally apply cosmetic formula to the skin with a reciprocating (e.g., tapping) motion. Embodiments of converter assemblies for generating such reciprocating motion from an oscillating motor include an outer housing, a follower having a cam following surface, and a cam rotatably couplable to the outer housing; or a follower elastically coupled to the outer housing, and a contact point configured to slidingly interface a following surface on the follower. In general, the follower is configured for reciprocating motion and the cam or contact point are configured for oscillating motion, both with respect to the outer housing. Interaction of the cam or the contact point and the following surface causes the follower to reciprocate.

Abstract:
An apparatus for transferring power wirelessly is provided. The apparatus comprises a plurality of magneto-mechanical oscillators (1300). Each magneto-mechanical oscillator comprises a magnetic element (1312) disposed at a vertex of a rhombic lattice. Each magneto-mechanical oscillator is configured to generate a second time-varying magnetic field via movement of the magnetic element of each of the plurality of magneto-mechanical oscillators caused by a first time-varying magnetic field.
Abstract:
A vibrating actuator is disclosed, comprising: a magnetic part including at least two magnets (1) arranged with same polarities facing each other; a receiving part including a hollow member (4) with a cavity (5) for receiving the magnetic part and at least one coil (2) wrapped around the hollow member (4) and fixed thereto; elastic elements (6) interconnecting the magnetic part and the hollow member (4); and a chassis (7). In one aspect, the magnetic part is fixed to the chassis (7) via attachment elements (8, 10) such that the magnetic part, the attachment elements (8, 10) and the chassis are stationary, and the receiving part performs a linear movement with changing direction causing the vibration when an alternating current passes through the coil(s) (2). In another aspect, the elastic elements (6) are flat elastic metal or plastic membranes (6). In yet another aspect, a magnetic guidance mechanism of ferromagnetic material partly surrounding the hollow member (4) and the coil(s) (2) is mounted to the longitudinally outer ends of the magnetic part.
Abstract:
An apparatus for generating composite confocal images, comprising: an imaging apparatus configured to generate illumination; a sample stage configured to hold a sample to be illuminated by the illumination, wherein the illumination causes the sample to generate emissions that can be detected and used to image the sample, the sample stage configured to move the sample to a plurality of positions during the imaging process; and a vibration mechanism coupled with the sample stage, the motor configured to vibrate the stage after the stage moves the sample for a vibration period.
Abstract:
An oscillating motor suitable for use with a personal care appliance is provided. The oscillating motor is configured with a reduced motor envelope as compared to conventional motors in order to be suitable for personal care appliances with smaller handles.
Abstract:
A resilient motor mount (70) for a power toothbrush (10) configured to limit the axial and rotational displacement of a shaft (60) of a motor (50). The displacement limits are designed to protect the toothbrush(10)from physical damage and to prevent rotational slipped poles, i.e. "cogging" errors, between the permanent magnets and poles of the resonating toothbrush motor(50).
