Abstract:
A user status may be updated at one of a plurality of network entities associated with a user. Through communication between the network entity on which the update has been made and a central server, an indication of the status update may be transmitted, by the central server, to the other network entities associated with the user.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for providing a personalized Internet telephone service and a terminal using the same, and comprises: a step (S10) of storing and setting service subscription information and personal information in the databases (11, 12) of a personalized Internet telephone service web server (10) by allowing a user (20) to access the web server (10) through an Internet-accessible terminal; a step (S20) of enabling the user (20) to access the web server (10) through an existing wired/wireless Internet telephone terminal (21) for an Internet telephone service provider; a step (S30) of selecting on a display screen of the terminal (21) a user authentication means and a service fee payment means which are provided by the web server (10); a step (S40) of either connecting a call to another party (30) by dialing through the terminal (21) a telephone number from a personal phonebook which is stored in a personal phonebook storage database (12) on the web server (10), or connecting a call to a telephone number additionally provided by the web server (10) after selecting the user authentication means and the service fee payment means; and a step (S50) of saving a call record and a new telephone number to the database (12) if connecting a call to the new telephone number which is not stored in the database (12), then terminating the use of the terminal (21). The invention is able to make a call by: accessing the personalized Internet telephone service web server through the Internet access means installed in a terminal of the user and enabling the terminal to directly display the stored phone number list from the personal phonebook storage database; or receiving a telephone number list for each kind of business in a selected or current area from a database that stores additionally-provided phonebooks, wherein the phonebook list is provided from the web server. Just like when using a mobile phone, the invention thereby enables the user to search for a target phone number and make a call easily through access to the personalized Internet telephone service web server using the wired/wireless Internet telephone terminal that enables an Internet telephone service for an existing Internet telephone service provider. As a result, the wired/wireless Internet telephone terminal can be popularized.
Abstract:
A converged address book system having a converged address book (CAB) client for managing contact information, the CAB client including: an interface for interacting with a CAB server; and a synchronization interface for communicating with a synchronization module for interacting with a data synchronization enabler for synchronization between the CAB client and CAB server; the interface allowing the CAB client to manage contact information by making requests to and receiving responses from the CAB server. The CAB server including an interface for interacting with a CAB client; a data synchronization manager for synchronizing information between at least one CAB user device and the CAB server; a data synchronization interface for synchronizing data with the CAB client; a subscription manager for managing CAB subscription and authorization information; a document management interface for communicating with a CAB XMDS; and an XDMC for accessing and manipulate CAB data stored in the XDMS.
Abstract:
A system and method for managing sequential call delivery in an internet protocol communication system includes a step 402 of registering a global identity and multiple contact identities for a user. A next step 404 includes receiving a call to the global identity of the user. A next step 406 includes sequentially attempting the call to the multiple contact identities of the user. A next step 408 includes determining that one of the contacts handles the call. A next step 412 includes notifying at least the sequentially-previous contacts that the call has been handled.
Abstract:
A network based host (10) comprising an agent (12) for mobile telephones (14), the agent being associated with a mobile telephone user, the agent (12) comprising: mobile telephone application data (16); and an interface (20) to make the application data (16) available over the network to devices of the mobile telephone user and to provide the data for telephony operations by a remotely connecting mobile telephony device (14) of the mobile telephone user.
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for delivering content to mobile communication devices related to interactions of members with a user community. The method involves detecting a communication session involving a mobile communication device; determining one or more context parameters associated with the communication session; and delivering content related to the context parameters to one or more mobile communication devices. Data is stored at a central computing entity that indicates association or membership of a plurality of mobile communication device users in a user community. The central computing entity detects when an action is taken by one mobile device user that is a member of the user community, and sends a notification to members of the social circle based on the detected action. These techniques allow individuals who are involved in a user community to maintain their interaction with the user community using their mobile communication devices.
Abstract:
A method and system for facilitating collaboration between two groups without impairing or affecting the structure of the two groups is provided.
