Abstract:
A ball type downhole lubricator valve features a ball rotating on its axis to open or close with control line pressure to an actuating piston. The ball is also shiftable to a locked open position. A cage surrounds the ball and retains opposed seats to it. The cage is made from one piece and tangential holes are drilled and tapped before the piece is longitudinally split with a wire EDM cutting technique. Fasteners to rejoin the cuthalves properly space them to the original one piece internal dimension. Auxiliary tools allow determination of spacing of internal components so that a desired spring preload on the seats against the ball can be achieved.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A padlock includes a lock body, a shackle, and a sleeve. The lock body includes opposed front and rear longitudinally extending side walls terminating at first and second end portions. The shackle extends from the first end portion of the lock body. The sleeve covers at least a portion of each of the longitudinally extending side walls, and an internal surface of the sleeve includes at least one longitudinally extending rib contacting at least one of the front and rear longitudinally extending side walls to define a gap between the sleeve and the lock body.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing and handling parts for a packaging container in that a number of tops (1) are produced in the form of a row (11) of pairwise reversed tops, whereafter the pairs (12) are separated from one another and are provided with closure arrangements. The tops (1) may be manufactured by blow moulding of an extruded hose (8) of thermoplastic material.

Abstract:
In a connecting rod with a split big-end, the unmachined part is a preferably aluminium die-casting in which notches (notches 13, 15) are made along the subsequent line of separation. The big-end (5) is separated substantially along the intended break line by means of a shearing tool capable of widening the eye (9) in the region of intended bore reliefs in such a way that subsequent opening out is unnecessary.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a universal joint outer housing (61) which produces an extrusion (60) which consists of two outer housings (61) instead of one. The outer housings (61) are formed adjacent to each other and are separated during the machining of the finished housings (61). This provides a significant cost savings by providing two extrusions during a process which originally produced only a single extrusion.
Abstract:
A method of making a universal joint from a tube, including forming a plurality of pairs of coaxially aligned holes at longitudinally spaced locations in the tube, cutting the tube along a curvilinear cutting path around the holes forming a pair of projecting arms and U-shaped recesses between the arms forming a plurality of yokes and pivotally interconnecting the yokes using a pivot member received in the holes of adjacent yokes.
