Abstract:
A system and method for assembling wall panels (12) includes a plurality of PVC fastening extrusions (38) mountable to a wall in a predetermined parallel, spaced apart relationship, each having a length much greater than a length of a wall panel. The extrusions having two spaced apart resilient bent end securing walls (50) extending from a base (40), each securing wall having a projection (52). The wall panel having a main wall panel (16) and four bent end sections (18) with recesses (32) and corner openings (106). A bent end section is pressed into the spacing between the securing walls to cause deformation and snapping back thereof, whereby a projection engages in a respective recess. The wall panel may be slid along the parallel, spaced apart fastening extrusions to a desired position, wherein the corner openings permit the sliding action.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Quick-disconnect couplings for three-piece rotors in a two-rotor continuous mixer for plastic materials enable a main rotor section (or 'main rotor body') of each rotor to be uncoupled from a drive journal located at one end of the main rotor section and a driven journal located at the other end of the main rotor section. These quick-disconnect couplings as shown provide the following features: (a) piloted to maintain concentricity, (b) keyed to transmit torque, (c) enable quick assembly and disassembly of three-piece rotors, (d) maintain integrity of couplings bolted onto respective ends of each rotor section, (e) thus, a complete functional main rotor body is assembled with its quick-disconnect couplings (140, 141) at each end, (f) the disengageable interface between each coupling and each journal is supplied with both pilot and key, (g) concentricity and torque capabilities are built into the quick-disconnect coupling assemblies, (h) threaded locking collars captive on the journals serve to lock the disengageable interfaces together, (i) interface joints are pre-loaded by tightening the locking collars using spanner wrenches, (j) threaded locking collars do not become jammed, because torque is carried by keyed engagement at each interface, and (k) for disassembly the locking collars are backed off and main rotor bodies together with their couplings by separation at the piloted and keyed interfaces.
Abstract:
A coupler for a load-bearing, non-signal-transmitting cable includes a body portion having integral first and second ends and an integral gate having a key entry region, wherein the body portion has a free space at least partially enclosed by an inner surface of the body portion and the gate. A complimentary coupling ring includes an integral perimetal body having a head section, a foot section, and two arm sections therebetween, wherein at least one of the arm sections has a key region, further wherein the key region consists of a solid, integral portion of the at least one arm section. A coupler/coupling ring assembly comprises a coupler and a coupling ring that is removeably engageable with the coupler. The coupler/coupling ring assembly is particularly suited for interconnecting lengths of load-bearing, non-signal-transmitting cable, particularly suited for, but not limited to, undersea applications such as attaching a seismic data recording device to the coupler via the coupling ring.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A system for securing at least one cable in a conduit having first and second ends, the at least one cable being housed in the conduit and extending therethrough. The system includes a first inhibiting device disposed at the conduit proximate the first end and a second inhibiting device disposed at the conduit proximate the second end. Each of the inhibiting devices includes a stopper having a proximal end, a distal end, and a passageway formed therethrough for receiving the at least one cable. First and second thickening devices are respectively disposed adjacent each stopper. Each thickening device is operable to secure to the at least one cable. The first and second thickening devices cooperate with a respective one of the stoppers to deter removal of the at least one cable from the conduit when the thickening devices are secured to the at least one cable.
Abstract:
A connection arrangement for connection of vertically and/or horizontally arranged containers. Each of the containers provides bosses or projections over a collinear pair of which is placed a separate plate. The plate provides matched polygonal apertures to receive the projections. Each of the projections provides an aperture there through to receive a retainer pin or bolt. The pin or bolt abuts the plate when engaged. The arrangement greatly expedites the separation of the containers when desired. The user needs only tap out the retainer pin and pull off the plate. This obviates the use of fasteners which can freeze, rust or become otherwise inoperative or cumbersome.
Abstract:
A continuous composite fiberglass sucker rod for connection between a pump and a pump drive has a rectangular cross section. End fittings having a rod receiving cavity are connected to the rod ends using a curable adhesive. The rod fitting is maintained in a vertical position with the cavity facing upwardly. The rod end portion is positioned in the cavity with the end at the bottom of the cavity. Curable adhesive is introduced into the cavity. A centralizer bushing is used to maintain alignment of the rod relative to the cavity. A portable heating device receives the fitting and rod end portion and enhances the curing process.
Abstract:
It will be clearly seen that the bolt-like piece (1) described in the space frame connection system is embossed on the shaft with the part with thread being excluded, and the groove-set is formed, and as a result of title assembly of these two parts with groove-set formed in the hole section inside the wide nut-like piece (3) within the tolerances and at the same pitch (Figure 4/2, Figure 4/3), the system has the strength against the serious values of excessive pressures.
