The invention relates to a device for dicing garlic, or similar vegetables. Said device comprises an inner section (2) which has a receiving chamber with a cutting grid (6) located at one end, an upper housing section (3) which can close the other end of the receiving chamber and has a plunger (9) and comprises a housing body (1) with a blade (7), in which the inner section (2) is accommodated in a rotating manner and thread elements which cause the plunger (9) to be driven into and out of the receiving chamber of the rotating inner section (2) as a result of a twisting motion of the upper housing section (3). The thread elements can be engaged or disengaged using adjustment elements (14).

An apparatus for cutting dry pasta strands includes a frame (12) and a guide rail (20) mounted on the frame. A bucket (16) is slidably mounted to the guide rail and linearly moves along the guide rail. The bucket (16) has a stepped pasta-receiving channel (32) including a cutting edge (80). A cutting blade (22) is fixed to the frame for selective sliding engagement against the cutting edge (80) to cut the pasta in half.

The invention relates to a device for chopping garlic, comprising a housing body which on its bottom side has a knife (8), and an upper part (2) to which a punch (12) is connected. During operations said punch rotates in relation to the housing body (6) and carries out an axial movement against a co-rotating cutting grid (5b). An inner body for receiving the garlic is mounted in the housing body (6) in a rotating manner and presents a cutting grid (5b). The punch (12) is mounted on a spindle (4) and penetrates into said inner body. The invention also provides means which when the device is operational ensure contact with the spindle (4) and in the open position allow for the spindle (4) to be displaced laterally.

An apparatus for cutting helically shaped pieces from potatoes has a top portion (10) forming a drive section, a center portion (12) forming a feed section and a lower portion (14) forming a cutting section. The drive section (10) comprises a plurality of rotatable shafts (22) extending in a circle about a central axis. The feed section (12) comprises a plurality of rotatable rods (42) arranged in a circle about the central axis, each rod (42) at its upper end connected to a lower end of a shaft (22). At least the lower part of each rod (42) has a spiral outer surface. The cutter section (14) includes a cutter (62) of hollow conical form having a series of spiral channels (80) on its interior surface, each spiral ending in an aperture (82), the apertures (82) forming cutting edges (84). Potatoes are fed through the feed section (12), on rotation of the rods (42), by the spiral surfaces of the rods (42), and pushed into the cutter (62), which on rotation, cuts helical pieces from potatoes.
