There is disclosed composite material lay-up equipment (10) for applying a plurality of individual lengths of elongate fibre reinforcement material (14) to an article (12), the equipment (10) comprising: a support head (20); a cutting mechanism (22) carried by the support head (20) for severing a plurality of individual lengths of elongate fibre reinforcement material (14). The cutting mechanism (22) comprises a plurality of cutting elements (60) coupled to and moveable with respect to the support head (20) and a cassette (65) removably attached to the support head (20) and having a plurality of corresponding counteracting elements (76) statically mounted thereto. Each cutting element (60) is displaceable relative to the corresponding counteracting element (76) to perform a cutting stroke in which the respective cutting and counteracting elements (60), (76) cooperate to sever a length of elongate fibre reinforcement (14) material extending through the nip formed between them.

Eine Umformmaschine weist eine Schervorrichtung zum Scher.en einer Stange (2, 20) auf. Diese Schervorrichtung umfasst ein ortsfestes Festmesser (11) mit einem Durchgang (111) zur Durchführung der zu scherenden Stange (2, 20) und ein parallel zum Festmesser (11) vorwärts und rückwärts bewegbares Scherteil (12) . Das Scherteil (12) umfasst ein erstes Schermesser (121), mit welchem ein aus dem Festmesser (11) vorste hender Stangenabschnitt in einer Vorwärtsbewegung des Scher- teils (12) scherbar ist., und ein zweites Schermesser (122), mit welchem ein aus dem Festmesser (11) vorstehender Stangen abschnitt (201)' in einer Rückwärtsbewegung des Scherteils (12) scherbar ist. Die Umformmaschine weist ausserdem eine Entsorgungsstelle. (8) auf, zu der das zweite Schermesser (122) alle von ihm gescherten Stangenabschnitte (201) als Ausschussstücke transportiert. Durch das ausschliessliche Scheren von Ausschussstücken (201) mit dem zweiten Schermesser (122) können Leerstellen in den Umformstationen und die damit verbundenen Nachteile' vermieden werden.

A cutting machine (1) for a Venetian blind comprising a head rail (10), a bottom rail (15), and a plurality of blind slats (20). The cutting machine comprises a body (25) defining a head rail opening (30), a bottom rail opening (40), and at least one blind slat opening (35-36), a plate (46) for cutting the head rail, a blade assembly (55) for cutting the bottom rail the blind slats, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism (70, 75) is operatively connected to the plate and the blade assembly causing the plate to cut the head rail while, at the same time, causing the blade assembly to cut the bottom rail and the blind slats.

The invention relates to a method for removing from a carrier a carrier part with a housing arranged thereon, characterized in that prior to performing the separating operation a notched line is arranged in the carrier on at least one side of the carrier along at least a part of the length of a separating edge to be arranged. The invention also relates to a carrier part with a housing arranged thereon, which carrier part contains openings on the side of the carrier remote from the housing which are filled with encapsulating material, manufactured with the present method. The invention moreover relates to an apparatus for performing the method.
Abstract:
In order to selectively reinforce portions of a material web (12), a cutting and laminating device efficiently produces the required reinforcing strips and then laminates them to the web. In order to efficiently and accurately produce these reinforcing strips, a cross web shear (40) is utilized which is capable of cutting required reinforcing strips from the fairly large web of reinforcing material (14) in an accurate manner. Once cut, a holding and positioning device (60) is capable of grabbing onto the reinforcing strip and appropriately positioning it next to the primary material web (12). A separate laminator can then attach this reinforcing strip to the web at a desired location.

A cutting knife assembly has a projecting cutting knife (12) detacheably connected to a baseboard (10). The cutting knife circumscribes a knife cavity (18) on the baseboard (10). An elongate cross member (20) extends across the knife cavity (18), is affixed to the cutting knife (12) and is mounted to the baseboard (10) by a removable fastener.

An apparatus and method for cutting piled fabric sections such as carpet tiles is provided. The apparatus comprises a frame (34), a bending assembly for bending pile elements (32) away from the normal substantially vertical orientation with respect to the base of the fabric (33) along a line to be cut, at least one cutting blade (36) for cutting the fabric through a portion of the bent piling elements and fabric base and drives (58, 35) for powering the bending and cutting operations. The related method comprises the steps of bending the pile elements (32) downward toward the fabric base along a line to be cut and thereafter cutting through the bent piling elements (32) and fabric base (33) to form a two-sided cut. Such method shears piling elements adjacent to one side of the cut while leaving the pile elements adjacent to the other side of the cut substantially unaltered.

Bei bekannten Besäumscheren mit auslaufseitigem Schrottmesserpaar muss das bewegte obere Schrottmesser möglichst dicht an der besäumten Blechkante vorbeigeführt werden, um den noch am Blech hängenden Saumstreifen gegen das untere feste Schrottmesser abwärts zu drücken, was eine genaue Einstellung des oberen Schrottmessers erfordert. Um dies zu realisieren, wird gemäss der Erfindung vorgeschlagen, dass der Abstand zwischen dem Schrottobermesser (2) oder dem Schrottuntermesser (3) und der Besäummesserebene (5) vor dem Besäumen in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke der jeweils zu besäumenden Grobbleche (10) eingestellt wird durch Verschieben von dem Schrottobermesser (2) und/oder dem Schrottuntermesser (3) in einer Verschieberichtung mit zumindest einer Komponente quer zu der Besäummesserebene (5).
