    Abstract: The invention relates to a transportable bench circular saw, comprising an outer housing (1) with a table top (4) embodying a workpiece support surface (3) which table top is arranged in the outer housing (1) in a non-reversible manner, a sawing unit (7) positioned below the table top (4) and having a drive engine and a circular saw blade (10) which extends through the table top (4) from below across a sawing slot (9). Viewed from the top, the dimensions of the outer housing (1) are almost square and the sawing unit (7) is movable in relation to the table top (4) in the direction of pull. The circular saw blade (10) moves in the direction of pull in the sawing slot (9) and, preferably, the sawing unit (7) can be tilted towards at least one side in relation to a mitre cut axis extending in the direction of pull. The invention is characterized in that the table top (4) embodying the workpiece support surface (3) is mounted with the sawing slot (9) in the outer housing (1), especially in a peripheral plate (14) of said outer housing (1), in such a way that it is able to rotate about a vertical axis positioned at right angles in relation to the workpiece support surface (3), in that the sawing unit (7) can be rotated about said vertical axis with the table top (4) and in that the outer housing has a recess (15) extending from the front side and across the entire width of the outer housing (1) below the table top (4) and possibly the peripheral plate (14), in which recess an actuating element (12, 13) for pivoting the table top (4) freely towards the left and right is arranged in a pivoting manner.

    Abstract: A dual-end cutting apparatus (10) for trimming assembled blinds (11) has fixed spacing between a pair of trimming units (14), which are adapted from conventional power miter saws (30). The blind assembly (22) is clamped to a carriage (18) that is movable on tracks (16) between the trimming units (14), and adjustable stops (40) are supported at opposite ends of the machine. The adjustable stops (40) also have actuators (42) for movement between an advanced position for positioning the blinds for cutting, and a retracted position that facilitates evacuation of scraps and chips from respective collector boxes (60) wherein cutting takes place to a vacuum holding tank (68). A method for trimming includes clamping the blinds to the carriage with components aligned against one stop member (50), trimming that end of the blinds, moving the carriage to abut the blinds against the other stop, and trimming the other end of the blinds.
