摘要: An improved process and catalyst are provided for making an FDCA diester monomer product with improved productivity compared to an autocatalyzed esterification but with comparable or at least not greatly diminished color properties compared to the FDCA diester monomer product that would be produced autocatalytically, wherein a heterogeneous tin (II) catalyst is employed to make an esterification product comprising a diester of FDCA with an alcohol, the catalyst being in either a bulk, unsupported form or in the form of a supported tin (II) catalyst, in particular, using a hygroscopic support such as a gamma alumina, a zeolite or a silica, or using a carbon support.

摘要: The disclosure relates to aryl hydrocarbon receptor antagonists as well as methods of modulating aryl hydrocarbon receptor activity and expanding hematopoietic stem cells by culturing hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells in the presence of these agents. Additionally, the disclosure provides methods of treating various pathologies, such as cancer, by administration of these aryl hydrocarbon receptor antagonists. Additionally, the disclosure provides methods of treating various pathologies in a patient by administration of expanded hematopoietic stem cells. The disclosure further provides kits containing aryl hydrocarbon receptor antagonists that can be used for the expansion of hematopoietic stem cells. The disclosure further relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds and methods of treating or preventing a disease in which aryl hydrocarbon receptor plays a role.

摘要: Processes are disclosed for the synthesis of 2-substituted furan derivatives from a substrate having a carbonyl functional group (C=O), with hydroxy-substituted carbon atoms at alpha and beta positions, relative to the carbonyl functional group. In one embodiment, an alpha-, beta-dihydroxy carboxylate is dehydrated to form a dicarbonyl intermediate by transformation of the alpha-hydroxy group to a second carbonyl group and removal of the beta-hydroxy group. The dicarbonyl intermediate undergoes cyclization and dehydration to produce the 2-substituted furan derivative. Optionally, a further step of oxidation may be carried out, for example to convert a hydroxymethyl group, as a 5-substituted furan ring, to a carboxy group of 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid.

摘要: A process for oxidising a substrate selected from hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), diformylfuran (DFF), hydroxymethylfurancarboxylic acid (HMFCA) and formylfurancarboxylic acid (FFCA). Said process comprises mixing said substrate with catalase, one or more further enzymes and hydrogen peroxide to form a reaction mixture. Said one or more further enzymes have the ability to catalyse oxidation of said substrate. Said hydrogen peroxide is provided at a total molar ratio of at least about 0.1:1 hydrogen peroxide to substrate.

摘要: The invention is based on the finding that when conducting crystallization of FDCA at high temperatures, the formation of significant amounts of colored byproduct can be reduced or even avoided when the FDCA mixture is kept at temperatures above 100 °C for less than 15 minutes. This is achieved by conducting the crystallization process in a continuous reactor. Accordingly, the method comprises the steps of feeding a mixture comprising undissolved FDCA and a solvent to a reactor; and dissolving FDCA by superheating the mixture in the reactor to a temperature of at least 130 °C; and crystallizing FDCA by cooling the mixture in the reactor, wherein the reactor is a continuous reactor and the residence time in the reactor zone wherein the FDCA mixture has a temperature above 100 °C is less than 15 minutes.
