Abstract:
An uncoated nonwoven fibrous mat having a reduced air porosity is disclosed comprising a first plurality of fibers having a length between about 10 mm and 20 mm and an average diameter between about 9 µm and 15 µm; a second plurality of fibers having a length between about 3 mm and 8 mm and an average diameter between about 5 µm and 8 µm; and a binder composition. The uncoated nonwoven fibrous mat has an air porosity less than about 550 CFM.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Papier, das insbesondere zur Herstellung einer Wabenstruktur verwendet werden kann. Das Papier enthält thermoplastische Fasern und mineralische Fasern, wobei die thermoplastischen Fasern Aramid-Jet-Spun-Fibride und/oder Aramid- Stapelfasern umfassen und es mineralische Steinwollfasern enthält. Daneben betrifft die Erfindung eine aus dem Papier hergestellte Wabenstruktur.

É descrito um diafragma de papel para transdutor eletroacústico que compreende fibra longa, fibra curta, fibra de vidro e adicionalmente entre 2% e 4% m/m em relação ao peso total da composição, de fibra de juta e de sisal. As etapas (110), (120), (130), (140), (150), (160), (170) e (180) levam ô preparação do diafragma da invenção, dotado de propriedades diferenciadas de som decorrentes de maior compactação, gramatura e espessura, sendo mais fino e mais denso que um diafragma de controle preparado em ausência de fibras de juta e de sisal. O transdutor eletroacústico contendo dito diafragma também é descrito.

Facing material useful in the manufacture of gypsum wallboard is surfaced treated in order to adhere an amount of seed crystals to improve the adhering affinity of the facing material for wet plaster thereby permitting the manufacture of gypsum wallboard with little or no added starch and reduced amounts of water. Various means for adhering the seed crystals to the facing material are described as well as, a method of converting the facing material and wallboards containing the facing material are also described.

Beschrieben werden Mineralwollfasermatten, die mit einem Binder aus Carboxylgruppen enthaltenden Polymeren und ausgewählten Vernetzern stabilisiert sind. Diese Matten lassen sich als Dämmmaterial einsetzen und zeichnen sich durch niedrige bzw. keine Formaldehyd-Emissionen aus.
Abstract:
Methods for improving the tear strength in non-woven chopped strand mats during the manufacturing process of the mats are provided. In particular, the tear strength of the mat can be improved as the mat is being formed in response to current manufacturing conditions by the addition of a water soluble polyol, such as polyvinyl alcohol, or a cationic dispersant to the binder seal pit. Alternatively, a cationic dispersant may be added to the white water chest to improve the tear strength of the chopped strand mat. The addition of polyvinyl alcohol or a cationic dispersant to the binder seal pit results in an immediate or nearly immediate improvement of the tear strength of the chopped strand mat. Both the polyvinyl alcohol and the cationic dispersant can be utilized to improve the tear strength of a chopped strand mat regardless of the type of binder or components in the white water.

An impregnated fibrous veil comprises a nonwoven fibrous veil including a prebinder and reinforcing fibers. The reinforcing fibers are selected from a group consisting of glass fibers, ceramic fibers and mixtures thereof. The nonwoven fibrous veil has at least one face impregnated with a surface finish formulation. The surface finish formulation includes about 80 to about 98 weight percent filler, about 2 to about 20 weight percent binder and about 0 to about 1 weight percent optical brightener.

A process of producing a blanket is described and can involve forming an aqueous slurry of hydrophobic aerogels, fibers, and at least one wetting agent, drying the aqueous slurry to form a substantially dried product, and calendaring the substantially dried product to form the blanket. The blanket can be used in a variety of applications, including windows.
