摘要: A pipeline inspection tool (10) including a cylindrical tool body (11) that includes a deformable portion (13) with a plurality of sensors (25) located near or on an external circumferential surface (12) of the deformable portion. A sealed unit (60) contains a corresponding signal source (25). Pipeline gauging relies upon the compressibility and elasticity inherent in the deformable portion as it encounters anomalies in pipeline geometry and moves between a first size and a second size, the signal strength of the source detected by the sensors changing as a result. The sensors may be arrayed in a circumferential band (47) about the deformable portion or along its length. In some embodiments, the sensors and source are magnetic or acoustic (e.g., transceivers or radar integrated chips). In other embodiments, the sensors and source are light or fiber optic.

摘要: This invention relates to a device for moving in a pipeline comprising a gauge module which is moved by fluid pressure in the pipeline. The gauge module comprises a gauge body having a cylindrical shape and at least one fluid channel provided along a longitudinal direction of the gauge body to allow the fluid to flow through and a speed control module which is mounted to the gauge module. The speed control module is detachably mounted to the gauge module and comprises a flow adjustment valve detachably mounted through a connecting means to an end portion of the gauge module on a side where the gauge module moves in the pipeline to receive the fluid from the fluid channel and a valve control unit connected to the flow adjustment valve to control an opening of the flow adjustment valve according to a movement speed of the gauge module.

摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to systems and methods for locating an anomaly along an inside surface of a conveyance pipe containing two mediums separated by a two medium interface. The systems and methods include an assembly transportable within the conveyance pipe. The assembly includes an enclosure that is at least partially transparent and is positionable to be located both above and below the two medium interface. An upper camera and a lower camera enclosed within the enclosure are operable to capture images of the inside surface of the conveyance pipe above and below the two medium interface. A data acquisition unit is in electronic communication with the upper camera and the lower camera, and includes a processor programmed to determine a presence and a location of the anomaly by analyzing the captured images.

The present disclosure relates to a method for maneuvering a device comprising transmitting an electronic signal, receiving the signal, and actuating maneuvering means on the device to generate a force sufficient to alter the path of the device in a direction around the pipeline feature based on information related by the received signal. In aspects, the method comprising identifying a pipeline feature by directing one or more of a camera, sonar sensor, or time of flight sensor disposed on a device towards the intended path.

摘要: An apparatus includes a body and a fluid sampling conduit disposed within the body. The body is configured to be disposed within a pipe flowing a fluid. The fluid sampling conduit is configured to obtain a sample of the fluid flowing in the pipe. The apparatus includes an odometer wheel coupled to the body and an elastomeric ring surrounding at least a portion of the body. The elastomeric ring is configured to remove material disposed on an inner wall of the pipe as the apparatus travels through the pipe. The apparatus includes a solid sampling subsystem coupled to an external to the body. The solid sampling subsystem includes a capsule, an inlet valve, and a tubing. The inlet valve, when opened, allows at least a portion of the material removed from an inner wall of the pipe to flow through the tubing and into the capsule.
