    摘要: Techniques for implementing and/or operating a system that includes a pipe fitting to be secured to a pipe segment, in which the pipe fitting includes a grab ring having a grab notch and a fitting jacket to be conformally deformed around tubing of the pipe segment to facilitate securing the pipe fitting to the pipe segment. Additionally, the system includes a swage machine, which includes a grab plate having a grab tab that matingly interlocks with the grab notch on the grab ring to facilitate securing the pipe fitting to the swage machine, a die plate in which a die is loaded, and a swaging actuator secured to the die plate. The swage machine operates the swaging actuator to push the die plate over the fitting jacket of the pipe fitting to facilitate conformally deforming the fitting jacket around the tubing of the pipe segment via a forward stroke.

    摘要: The invention described herein is that of an outdoor drain filter useful for maintaining the operability of an outdoor drain despite the accumulation of debris that would otherwise obstruct the outdoor drain, resulting in flood prevention of surrounding areas. The outdoor drain filter of the present invention is placed above and around an existing outdoor drain or may be integral with a drain cover or drain reservoir. The outdoor drain filter comprises upper and side filtration means allowing the free flow of water therethrough. The outdoor drain filter further comprises a diverter comprising at least one air vent and at least one lateral pipe that defines a maximum water level to which water will accumulate around the outdoor drain before being diverted into the drain through the diverter. The outdoor drain filter may a manufactured unit or of modular construction.

    摘要: A system that automatically prevents freezing of a liquid in a plumbing network includes an electrical temperature sensor, an electromechanical shut-off valve, a pump (such as an air compressor pump and a vacuum pump) and an operatively connected computer. The computer determines if the temperature detected by the electrical temperature sensor is within a predetermined range of a threshold temperature. If so, the computer actuates the shut-off valve to prevent the liquid from flowing from a liquid source to a portion of the plumbing network, and actuates the pump to discharge the liquid from the portion of the plumbing network to the liquid drain. The computer may actuate additional electromechanical valves on the plumbing network to facilitate discharge of the liquid, and on a supply line to allow the liquid to continue circulating in the supply line.
