摘要: This disclosure relates to a method for the in-situ encapsulation and/or insulation of piping, such as underground piping, particularly underground piping carrying high temperature (e.g. >120o C) fluids, such as steam using silicone-based compositions such as liquid silicone rubber materials and/or silicone foams. This may be done by inserting a hose into a pipe cavity so that a first end of the hose is remotely positioned next to the pipe and a second end of the hose is attached to a pumping system wherein a silicone composition is pumped through the hose and into the cavity surrounding from the remote first end of the tubing at a first predefined rate, the hose is gradually withdrawn from the cavity at a second predefined rate and the silicone material is allowed to cure and become rigid, thereby encapsulating and/or insulating the pipe.

摘要: A flexible pipe for subsea transportation of production fluids, a method of manufacturing flexible pipe body and a method of providing corrosion protection to armour wires of at least one tensile armour layer of a flexible pipe having a breached pipe annulus are disclosed. The flexible pipe comprises a fluid retaining layer, an outer sheath and at least one tensile armour layer comprising a plurality of helically wound monofilament armour wires of a first material, each having a non-circular cross section with an aspect ratio of greater than 1:2 disposed between the fluid retaining layer and the outer sheath. The tensile armour layer further comprises at least one helically wound elongate anode element substantially having a cross-section aspect ratio of 1:1 and comprising a further material, interposed between armour wires, the anode element cross section having an area that is 50% or less of a corresponding area of said non-circular cross section.

摘要: A method of noncontact measurement of Cathodic Protection Current (CPC) is disclosed. The method includes inline measurement of a magnetic field induced by the CPC. To induce a non-zero magnetic field, an inline magnet is placed next to a wall in a way to produce axially asymmetric magnetic saturation inside a metal. Further, a value of the CPC is determined by using the measured magnetic field.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for controlling a fuel delivery system to limit acidic corrosion. An exemplary control system includes a controller, at least one monitor, an output, and a remediation system. The monitor of the control system may collect and analyze data indicative of a corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system. The output of the control system may automatically warn an operator of the fueling station of the corrosive environment so that the operator can take preventative or corrective action. The remediation system of the control system may take at least one corrective action to remediate the corrosive environment in the fuel delivery system.

摘要: Communications systems are provided for use with an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system having single or multiple ICCP components. A pipeline may be provided by connecting multiple pipeline sections together as an integrated pipeline where each section has an associated ICCP system. A communications signal comprising an AC signal is impressed on the pipeline and received by receivers associated with power supplies associated with each ICCP system. Upon reception of the AC signal, a controllable switch is operated within the power supplies to synchronously disconnect them from their power source and thereby enable accurate testing of the ICCP system.
