Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for identifying a region of interest are provided. A plurality of skeletal landmarks may be identified from an image received from an imaging device. A pose of a patient may be determined based on the plurality of skeletal landmarks. A region of interest may be identified on the patient based on the determined pose. Instructions may be automatically provided to the controller to adjust a pose of a surgical instrument relative to the region of interest. The plurality of skeletal landmarks may be tracked for movement. The region of interest may be updated when movement of the plurality of skeletal landmarks is detected.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting regions of interests (ROIs) in biomedical images are described herein. A computing system may identify a biomedical image having an ROI. The computer system may apply an object detection model to the biomedical image. The object detection model may generate a feature map using the biomedical image. The object detection model may generate an anchor box corresponding to a portion of the pixels in the feature map. The computing system may apply an instance segmentation model to identify a segment of the biomedical image within the anchor box corresponding to the ROI. The computer system may provide an output based on the segment to identify the ROI in the biomedical image.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein enable automated motion recognition by receiving a time-series of images depicting a subject at a plurality of time points. For each image in the time-series of images, an orientation key-point associated with a section of a body part of the subject are predicted via a neural network detector, a three-axis joint rotation associated with the section of the body part is computed based on the orientation key-point associated with the body part and a joint key -point associated with the body part, and features are generated including at least one of: the orientation key-point, the joint key-point, or the three-axis joint rotation. A motion performed by the subject is predicted via a motion recognition machine learning model based on the features of each image in the time-series of images, and an operation is executed in response to the motion.

Abstract: Improved techniques for determining an object's 3D orientation. An image is analyzed to identify a 2D object and a first set of key points. The first set defines a first polygon. A 3D virtual object is generated. This 3D virtual object has a second set of key points defining a second polygon representing an orientation of the 3D virtual object. The second polygon is rotated a selected number of times. For each rotation, each rotated polygon is reprojected into 2D space, and a matching score is determined between each reprojected polygon and the first polygon. A specific reprojected polygon is selected whose corresponding matching score is lowest. The orientation of the 3D virtual object is set to an orientation corresponding to the specific reprojected polygon. Based on the orientation of the 3D virtual object, an area of focus of the 2D object is determined.
